  • Publication number: 20080284333
Abstract: A plasma display panel having an image display region (17) and a non-image display region formed by disposing a front glass substrate (3) and a back glass substrate (10) oppositely, and a sealed portion (18) where the circumferential edges of the glass substrates in the non-image display region are sealed by a seal layer (19). In the plasma display panel, at least one of the front glass substrate (3) and the back glass substrate (10) has a thickness of 2.0 mm or less, and the distance between the glass substrates in the sealed portion is set larger than the distance between the glass substrates in the image display region.

  • Publication number: 20080233828
Abstract: A plasma display panel including a gas adsorption member is disclosed. An effort of gas adsorption is obtained sufficiently, and the presence of the gas adsorption member avoids problems at an exhausting operation in exhaust-baking step. The plasma display panel includes a pair of plates opposed to each other with an enclosed discharge space in between. The pair of plates refer to a front plate and a back plate, and at least one of the plates has a communication hole, around which the gas adsorption member having a hole is disposed.

  • Publication number: 20070296336
Abstract: A plasma display panel (PDP) is made of front panel (2) and rear panel (10). The front panel includes display electrodes (6), dielectric layer (8), and protective layer (8) that are formed on glass substrate (3). The rear panel includes address electrodes (12), barrier ribs (14), and phosphor layers (15) that are formed on rear glass substrate (11). The front panel and the rear panel are faced with each other, and the peripheries thereof are sealed to form discharge space (16) therebetween. Primary dielectric layer (13) is provided to cover address electrodes (12), and barrier ribs (14) are formed on primary dielectric layer (13). Primary dielectric layer (13) is made of dielectric glass containing at least bismuth oxide and having a softening point exceeding 550° C.

  • Patent number: 7304431
Abstract: A highly reliable plasma display panel which suppresses degradation of phosphor characteristic by removing impurity gases inside the plasma display panel. A front board includes scanning electrodes and maintenance electrodes. A and rear board includes data electrodes; partitions disposed in parallel and an exhaust hole. The scanning electrodes and maintenance electrodes of the front board and the data electrode of rear board cross. A non-evaporating getter such as zeolite is disposed inside plasma display panel near the exhaust hole.

  • Patent number: 6597421
Abstract: A reflective liquid crystal display element including a liquid crystal cell filling between an upper transparent substrate and lower substrate with liquid crystal, a polarizing film disposed at the upper transparent substrate side of the liquid crystal cell, a birefringent film layer disposed between the polarizing film and liquid crystal, cell and light reflecting means disposed at the lower substrate side of the liquid crystal cell. The display element further includes an undulated layer, which is not formed in the connection terminal between the lower substrate side of the liquid crystal cell and the external circuit board. Preferably, the sectional shape of the transparent electrode in the connection terminal between the display area and external circuit is formed in three stair steps.

  • Patent number: 6522378
Abstract: An electrode width of intermediate connection wiring which connects terminal electrode and common electrode is made narrower than an electrode width of terminal electrode at forming an electrode pattern on one of substrates configuring a liquid crystal display device. This enables the prevention of detrimental effect of cutting and polishing the periphery of a liquid crystal cell onto the terminal electrode. A laser irradiation process required for removing the common electrode is eliminated, and thus manufacturing cost may be reduced.
