  • Publication number: 20060212920
Abstract: The present invention provides a broadcast receiving terminal which improves power conservation, in which a user does not miss broadcast contents s/he likes. The broadcast receiving terminal (100) includes: a display unit (120) for displaying TV program content; a state administration unit (112) which judges whether or not to display the TV program content, based on the user's operation; and a first processing unit (110), which receives a digital broadcast wave and operates as follows: executes decoding on stream information, and causes the TV program content to be displayed in the display unit (120) when the TV program content are judged to be displayed. The first processing unit (110) presents an outline indicating real-time TV program information so that the outline is synchronized with the TV program content when the TV program content are judged not to be displayed.

  • Publication number: 20040199272
Abstract: For devices connected to a network using IEEE 1394 or the like, it has not been possible in the prior art to automatically perform grouping of these device based on their physical location relationships. The present invention discloses a network management system which, by utilizing a plurality of infrared signals, performs grouping of devices, i.e., a VTR, a TV-a, a DVD, a TV-b, and a component system, connected to a network, wherein a TV-a infrared receiver, a VTR infrared receiver, a TV-b infrared receiver, a DVD infrared receiver, and a component system infrared receiver are provided as infrared signal receiving apparatuses in the TV-a, the VTR, the DVD, the TV-b, and the component system, respectively, and of these devices, devices whose receiving apparatuses have received the same kind of infrared signal are grouped into the same group.

  • Patent number: 6715092
Abstract: In a host apparatus having a service function and a host function peculiar to the apparatus together, since means such as an interface section for controlling electric power supplied to a service section and a host section that are both the functions are common to the service section and the host section, it is difficult to turn off the power state of the host function, thus the user substantially cannot control the service function. The host apparatus has an interface section for receiving an input of at least an on command or an off command from the outside, host means connected on a network, a service section for performing a predetermined operation, a power source for supplying electricity at least to the host means and the service section, and power source monitoring section of controlling a state of a power supplies to the host means and the service section.
