Patent number: 7271926Abstract: An image printing apparatus, an image printing system, an image processing method and a memory medium are provided for preventing the image printing apparatus from being occupied for a long time by a single user, thereby enabling efficient utilization of the printing resources. Discrimination is made as to whether image formation is possible based on the image data transferred from a host apparatus, according to the printing condition based on such image data, and the image data are stored in a memory device in case the image formation is judged to be impossible. Preferably, even if image formation is possible, a discrimination is also made as to whether fully adequate image formation is possible. In addition, there may be formed a list of the images in order to enable judgment by a user of the images of all the received pages or, after the image forming operation, identification of the images of the pages for which the image formation is judged to be impossible.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2000Date of Patent: September 18, 2007Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Masami Amemiya

Patent number: 5970183Abstract: An original image is read, image data corresponding to a black frame is added to the read original image data, and the image data with the frame is output. In this case, when the shape of the read original image data is not a rectangular shape, since the black frame is not added as intended, binarized data of the read image before the image frame is added is directly output.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 1996Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masami Amemiya, Masashi Shimizu

Patent number: 5619343Abstract: A method and apparatus in which images on the front and back sides of a double-sided original are serially connected on one scanning line, subjected to image processing and converted into binary image data, and immediately separated into the front and back side images again. One of the front and back side images is compressed and transferred to a SCSI bus, and the other is temporarily stored in a graphic video RAM and can be displayed or printed. After the former image is completely compressed and transferred, the latter is read from the video RAM, compressed by the compression circuit and then transferred to the SCSI bus.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1994Date of Patent: April 8, 1997Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Masami Amemiya
