  • Patent number: 8373674
Abstract: A touch screen device includes a panel body having electrodes arranged in a grid pattern; a sensitivity calculator configured to calculate a sensitivity for each electrode intersection based on an amount of change in a signal output from the electrodes in response to a touch operation; a touch position detector configured to detect the touch position based on the sensitivity obtained by the sensitivity calculator; and a pointing device determiner configured to correct the sensitivity obtained by the sensitivity calculator, based on the touch position obtained by the touch position detector, and to determine whether a pointing device performing the touch operation is a pen or a finger, based on the corrected sensitivity.

  • Publication number: 20110304570
Abstract: A touch screen device is provided that includes a receiving signal processor, an odd number line FIFO, an even number line FIFO, and a first selector. The receiving signal processor processes output signals from receiving electrodes and outputs detection data. The odd number line FIFO and the even number line FIFO respectively store the detection data output from the receiving signal processor on a line basis. The first selector alternately selects outputs of the odd number line FIFO and the even number line FIFO. While one of the odd number line FIFO and the even number line FIFO performs writing of the detection data, the other performs reading.

  • Patent number: 6950953
Abstract: A multifunctional printer is provided with a main CPU that controls the entire apparatus, main power unit that supplies power to the main CPU, sub CPU that shuts down the power supply from the main power unit to the main CPU at a predetermined condition and restores the power supply from the main power unit to the main CPU upon detecting a factor canceling the power supply shut-down, PC interface board that informs the sub CPU about the factor canceling the power supply shut-down upon detecting a printing request from a PC, and sub power unit that supplies the power to the sub CPU and PC interface board separately from the main power unit.
