  • Patent number: 5182698
Abstract: A function expanding apparatus for a compact electronic device includes a casing having a supporting portion and a supporting plate attached to the casing to be movable in a predetermined direction. A pair of retaining portions are formed on the supporting plate. The rear portion of the electronic device is mounted on the supporting portion and is positioned in its width direction by a pair of positioning members provided at the supporting portion. The front end portion of the electronic device is mounted on the supporting palte and the retaining portions engage the front edge of the electronic device so as restrain the movement of the electronic device in the depth direction thereof. The position of the retaining portion is adjusted by moving the supporting plate, in accordance with the depth of the mounted electronic device.

  • Patent number: 5144290
Abstract: A portable apparatus comprises a base body having a front portion provided with a keyboard and a rear portion, a display unit having a display, a socket for allowing the display unit to be detachable with the base body and for mechanically rotatably connecting the display unit between the first position where the display unit covers the keyboard and the second position where allows an operation of the keyboard on watching the display, and a part for giving rotational force to the display unit when the display unit is connected to the base body and for forming the rear portion to be flat when the display unit is removed from the base body. The portable apparatus of the present invention allows the front phase of the socket to be set to the position opposing to the socket mount phase when the display unit is removed from the socket, it can avoid the socket to be in the way, and the operability and the portability of the apparatus can be improved.

  • Patent number: 5105335
Abstract: A hard case including a casing with an opening through which an electronic device is housed. The casing has a U-shaped carrying handle which is provided with a pair of projections arranged adjacent to the opening on lateral sides of the casing. Each of the projections is oblate shaped and arranged on the casing with its long axis directed along the lateral side of the casing. Proximal ends of paired arms of the carrying handle are provided with engaging holes. Each of the engaging holes has a circular hole portion made flexible at the inner rim thereof and provided with a diameter a little shorter than the length of the projection when viewed along the long axis of the projection, but longer than the width of the projection when viewed along the short axis of the projection.

  • Patent number: 4950072
Abstract: A presentation device for an overhead projector of this invention includes a frame-shaped casing, a transmissive-type liquid crystal panel fixed in the casing, first and second protective covers mounted on the casing to have predetermined gaps from the liquid crystal panel and to cover both surfaces of the liquid crystal panel, and exhaust fans disposed in the casing. In order to detachably mount the first and second protective covers to the casing, locking pawls and locking pieces which can be elastically deformed are formed on the outer edges of the first and second protective covers, and the notches and fitting holes to which the locking pawls and the locking pieces can be respectively fitted are formed in the casing.

  • Patent number: 4946274
Abstract: A presentation device for an overhead projector according to the present invention comprises a panel unit, which includes a liquid crystal panel, and a case for encasing the panel unit. At least one recess is formed in the outer surface of the panel unit which faces downward during use, and a movable leg is rockably mounted in the recess. During the use of the panel unit, the movable leg is caused to project from the recess by the urging force of a torsion coil spring. The case has an opening edge defining an inlet opening through which the panel unit is inserted into the case. The opening edge serves as an operating portion which is adapted to engage the movable leg, thereby rocking the leg against the urging force of the coil spring, so that the leg is housed in the recess, when the panel unit is inserted into the case through the inlet opening.
