  • Patent number: 7286449
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an optical pickup device with high reliability and reduced thickness, which can form an accurate beam spot without providing a thin film section in a lens holder and without influence of peripheral light of laser beam. There is provided an optical pickup device for driving and controlling a lens holder 1 holding an objective lens 4 by using a moving coil method, and adjusting an irradiation position of laser beam on an optical disk by displacing the objective lens 4, wherein a cut-out portion 1d is formed at a position closest to a rising mirror 10 on an opening 1a which is formed in the lens holder 1 for holding the objective lens 4, and a light-shielding ring R for sealing the cut-out portion 1d is arranged to fix the objective lens 4.

  • Patent number: 5508857
Abstract: A magnetic head loading/unloading apparatus has a head arm being maintained in either a loading state or an unloaded state by means of a permanent magnet. The head arm has a magnetic head on one end thereof, and is fixed on an end of a first yoke. A second yoke is arranged parallel to the first yoke, and is rotatable on the first yoke. A touching member is fixed on the second yoke, the touching member pressing a bottom surface of the head arm so as to elastically deform the head arm so that the magnetic head is positioned in an unload position. A permanent magnet is provided on the first yoke and a coil is provided on the second yoke. When the second yoke is moved to a first position, the head arm is elastically bent by a pressing force exerted by the contacting member so that the magnetic head is positioned in an unload position. When the second yoke is moved to a second position, the contacting member is apart from the head arm so that the magnetic head is in a load position.

  • Patent number: 5483504
Abstract: A head loading mechanism of a disk apparatus includes an arm for holding a magnetic head at a leading edge of the arm, the arm longitudinally extending in a radial direction of a magneto-optical disk toward the center of the disk and having a base portion and a plurality of laterally projecting portions between the leading edge and the base portion, a first supporting part for supporting the base portion of the arm, a second supporting part for supporting the laterally projecting portions of the arm when the disk is placed in a read/write position where information is recorded on or reproduced from the disk, and an arm raising part for vertically rotating the arm around the base portion supported by the first supporting part when the disk is moved from the read/write position to an insertion position, allowing the magnetic head to be placed in an unloaded position in which the magnetic head is separate from the disk.

  • Patent number: 5455809
Abstract: An magneto-optical disk apparatus has a magnetic head assembly a magnetic head slider loading mechanism. The magnetic head assembly has a magnetic head slider and a support arm for supporting the magnetic head slider. The magnetic head slider loading mechanism is fixed to a first yoke member 25 at the base of the support arm, to a generally U-shaped second yoke member fixed to a head carriage, and to a first towering part of the second yoke member. The magnetic head slider loading mechanism has a blade spring which has the first yoke member 25 fixed to the end of the blade spring, a coil provided in the first towering part, and a permanent magnet piece fixed to a second towering part. The magnetic force generated by the energization of the coil and the magnetic force of the permanent magnet piece causes the first yoke member to be magnetically attracted and attached to the second towering part so that the magnetic head slider is loaded above the magneto-optical disk.

  • Patent number: 5264911
Abstract: A laser power measuring jig is adapted for use in measuring a laser power of a laser beam which is emitted from an optical head of an optical disk unit which records and/or reproduces information on and/or from a medium. The laser power measuring jig supplies power information related to the laser power of the laser beam to a power meter which measures the laser power. The laser power measuring jig includes a main jig body which has a size and a shape which are approximately the same as those of the medium, and this main jig body is loaded into the optical disk unit. The laser power measuring jig also includes a mechanism for outputting the power information outside the optical disk unit and supplying the laser power information to the power meter when the main jig body is loaded into the optical disk unit.
