  • Patent number: 4150642
Abstract: A pressure control valve assembly comprising a rubber diaphragm to which is applied the negative pressure of the engine intake manifold and the exhaust gas pressure of the engine exhaust manifold. The diaphragm of the present invention is formed with a gradual descent sloping down from a valve-actuating central portion to an outer periphery. Adjacent to one portion of the outer periphery of the diaphragm a port opening to the outside of the valve assembly is provided. Thus, any gas ingredients such as condensed water can be expelled along the descent of the diaphragm via the port without gathering on the diaphragm surface which will therefore be free from objectionable oxidation or corrosion.

  • Patent number: 4140275
Abstract: A temperature responsive valve construction comprises a housing member having an inlet and an outlet formed therein and carrying a resilient valve seat that is adapted to interconnect the inlet with the outlet when the valve seat is open, and a one piece magnetic bimetallic snap disc closing the valve seat by snapping directly against the valve seat when sensing a certain temperature and opening the valve seat by snapping away from the valve seat when sensing another temperature. The bimetallic snap disc is held by an adjacent magnet member so that the bimetallic snap disc is held so as to be able to operate surely and completely and the valve construction can be assembled in easy manner.

  • Patent number: 4130267
Abstract: A pneumatic pressure responsive valve assembly for a pneumatic control system in a vehicle includes a power piston movable due to the pneumatic pressure difference between atmospheric pressure and a signaling vacuum pressure, which piston comprises a valve member cooperable with a valve seat. The valve member is slidably mounted with respect to the power piston. A weak spring disposed between the valve member and the power piston normally seats the valve member on the valve seat and movement of the power piston will unseat the valve member to provide a pneumatic control function.

  • Patent number: 4050423
Abstract: In an ignition timing adjusting device, a breaker plate of a distributor is held in the initial position thereof during idling of the engine and the breaker plate is temporarily moved in the retarding direction in a period of time after starts of the vehicle to positively retard the ignition timing of the engine so as to minimize the NOx emission and thereafter, instantly moved in the advancing direction upon arrival at a cruising speed of the vehicle to quickly advance the ignition timing of the engine so as to ensure good driveability of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4033125
Abstract: In an automobile engine exhaust gas cleaning system including an exhaust gas reactor which is supplied with auxiliary air for effecting combustion of unburnt constituents such as CO and HC in the exhaust gas, an air flow control device is provided for controlling the supply of the auxiliary air. The control device includes a first control valve disposed in the auxiliary air supply passage and controlled in response to the engine intake pressure so that it is opened when the engine intake vacuum is above the wide-open throttle vacuum, and a second control valve for controlling the supply of the engine intake vacuum to the first control valve in such a manner that it allows the engine intake vacuum to pass into the first control valve when the vacuum is lower than the value that is produced during deceleration and that it introduces atmospheric pressure to the first control valve when the vacuum increases to the value that is produced during deceleration.

  • Patent number: 3942844
Abstract: An actuator arranged between a hydraulic brake master cylinder and vehicle wheels for permitting the delivery therethrough of the braking pressure from the former to the latter includes solenoids responsive to signals from a computer which is adapted to sense the skidding of the wheels. Upon actuation of the solenoids, fluid pressure is no longer introduced into the actuator from a pump, as through a brake booster operatively connected to the brake pedal of the motor vehicle on the one hand and to the brake master cylinder on the other hand, so that the actuator suspends the delivery of the braking pressure to the wheels pending the cessation of the skidding. An accumulator is provided for delivering fluid pressure to the actuator, for example, in the event of the malfunctioning of the pump.
