Patent number: 4150642Abstract: A pressure control valve assembly comprising a rubber diaphragm to which is applied the negative pressure of the engine intake manifold and the exhaust gas pressure of the engine exhaust manifold. The diaphragm of the present invention is formed with a gradual descent sloping down from a valve-actuating central portion to an outer periphery. Adjacent to one portion of the outer periphery of the diaphragm a port opening to the outside of the valve assembly is provided. Thus, any gas ingredients such as condensed water can be expelled along the descent of the diaphragm via the port without gathering on the diaphragm surface which will therefore be free from objectionable oxidation or corrosion.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1977Date of Patent: April 24, 1979Assignees: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki Kaisha, Toyota Jidosha Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masami Inada, Kenji Hashimoto, Yukio Suzuki

Patent number: 4050423Abstract: In an ignition timing adjusting device, a breaker plate of a distributor is held in the initial position thereof during idling of the engine and the breaker plate is temporarily moved in the retarding direction in a period of time after starts of the vehicle to positively retard the ignition timing of the engine so as to minimize the NOx emission and thereafter, instantly moved in the advancing direction upon arrival at a cruising speed of the vehicle to quickly advance the ignition timing of the engine so as to ensure good driveability of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1975Date of Patent: September 27, 1977Assignees: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki Kaisha, Toyota Jidosha Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masami Inada, Yasuhiro Kawabata, Katsujiro Sato, Akinori Osanai

Patent number: 4033125Abstract: In an automobile engine exhaust gas cleaning system including an exhaust gas reactor which is supplied with auxiliary air for effecting combustion of unburnt constituents such as CO and HC in the exhaust gas, an air flow control device is provided for controlling the supply of the auxiliary air. The control device includes a first control valve disposed in the auxiliary air supply passage and controlled in response to the engine intake pressure so that it is opened when the engine intake vacuum is above the wide-open throttle vacuum, and a second control valve for controlling the supply of the engine intake vacuum to the first control valve in such a manner that it allows the engine intake vacuum to pass into the first control valve when the vacuum is lower than the value that is produced during deceleration and that it introduces atmospheric pressure to the first control valve when the vacuum increases to the value that is produced during deceleration.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 1975Date of Patent: July 5, 1977Assignees: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki Kaisha, Toyota Jidosha Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masami Inada, Yasuhiro Kawabata, Katsujiro Sato

Anti-skid control systems including an emergency accumulator for braking and skid control operations
Patent number: 3942844Abstract: An actuator arranged between a hydraulic brake master cylinder and vehicle wheels for permitting the delivery therethrough of the braking pressure from the former to the latter includes solenoids responsive to signals from a computer which is adapted to sense the skidding of the wheels. Upon actuation of the solenoids, fluid pressure is no longer introduced into the actuator from a pump, as through a brake booster operatively connected to the brake pedal of the motor vehicle on the one hand and to the brake master cylinder on the other hand, so that the actuator suspends the delivery of the braking pressure to the wheels pending the cessation of the skidding. An accumulator is provided for delivering fluid pressure to the actuator, for example, in the event of the malfunctioning of the pump.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1974Date of Patent: March 9, 1976Assignee: Aisin Seiki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masami Inada, Toshiyuki Kondo
