  • Patent number: 6941501
Abstract: A multicast file transmission method is disclosed, which permits efficient multicast file transmission with high reliability even in the communication system, which uses in the up-link direction a specified transmission circuit, such as a multiple access satellite communication circuit. In the multicast file transmission method, a data file is composed of a plurality of blocks from a sending side to respective receiving destinations. At respective destinations, a test is carried out to find whether or not any transmitted packet is erroneous in the data file composed of a plurality of blocks after the end of said transmission of the data file.

  • Patent number: 6414942
Abstract: A traffic generator for sending a pseudo-traffic onto a packet-switched network to evaluate the network performance and a traffic generating function determining method of optimizing generating functions (mathematical models) for a pseudo-traffic are provided. A traffic analysis unit 71 analyzes an actual traffic inputted thereto. An evaluate/optimization unit 74a optimizes parameters of first mathematical models on the basis of a packet length extracted by a packet length extracted unit 71a and the calculation results of the first mathematical models stored in a mathematical model storing unit 72a. The optimized first mathematical model is then registered in a packet length determining unit 2a of a packet sending pattern determining module 2. The packet length determining unit 2a calculates the packet length on the basis of the first mathematical model thus registered and then outputs the calculation result to a packet generating module.

  • Patent number: 6092113
Abstract: An IP tunnel is constructed between routers connected with the INTERNET. A bandwidth of the IP tunnel is assured by setting up a reservation resource protocol (RSVP) on the IP tunnel. Further as a traffic control of the routers and on the IP tunnel, a frequency for sending packets, which are processed by an input processor and an output processor inside of the router, is allotted based on a ratio of the reserved bandwidth in each IP tunnel, then an algorithm for controlling the traffic is simplified. Furthermore each of the routers on the IP tunnel has a function for scheduling a reservation and manages a time period at which the virtual private network (VPN) of a type of the reservation resource protocol (RSVP) will be used, then it is possible to reserve the assurance of the bandwidth on the designated date and time in the future.

  • Patent number: 6052734
Abstract: An amount of data to be distributed to each receiving terminal is dynamically controlled for each receiving terminal in response to a congestion of each of plural receiving terminals. When a determination of an RR (Reception Report) returned from the receiving terminal results in a very low rate of packet loss, an adaptive control mixer distributes communication data transmitted from a transmitting terminal to the receiving terminal without reducing the communication data. On the other hand, the determination of the RRs returned from the receiving terminals results in a high rate of packet loss, for example, 50% and 90%, respectively. In this case, the adaptive control mixer reduces, for example, 50% of the communication data transmitted from the transmitting terminal and then distributes the data to the one receiving terminal. The adaptive control mixer reduces, for example, 90% of the communication data and then distributes the data to the other receiving terminal.

  • Patent number: 5192130
Abstract: A process of making emulsion for photographic material being prevented from coarse oil globules mixed-in which causes visible spots on the final products is disclosed. Before mixing and emulsifying oil phase and water phase in an emulsifying tank, said two phases are pre-mixed air-tightly in an in-line-mixer to minimize the above mentioned trouble.

  • Patent number: 5139683
Abstract: The invention provides a method of removing organic solvent from a solution containing an emulsifier capable of foaming. The pressure in a chamber, in which the solution is disposed, is reduced. The foaming condition of the solution in the chamber is detected. Thereafter, the reduced pressure is regulated in accordance with the foaming condition of the solution.

  • Patent number: 4651238
Abstract: A recording medium read/write control system connected with recording medium access units operating in one of a plurality of recording types. The system, when accessing to said access unit, reads in recording type identification information which has previously been set or stored and initializes a control means to the identified recording type for controlling the drive of the access units and transfer of read/write data.
