    Abstract: In a liquid ejection head comprising a plurality of opened liquid flow passages arranged side by side and communicating with ejection orifices through which a liquid is ejected, and thermal energy generating elements for generating thermal energy utilized to eject the liquid through the ejection orifices and generating bubbles in the liquid, at least one closed liquid flow passage closed at one end corresponding to the ejection orifice is provided in at least one end side of the plurality of opened liquid flow passages communicating with the ejection orifices. Since the closed liquid flow passage is not communicated with open air, the liquid is relatively hard to flow into the closed liquid flow passage. Accordingly, a bubble having the function of absorbing a liquid vibration caused upon ejection of the liquid is formed to extend from the interior of the closed liquid flow passage rearward. Vibrations of liquid meniscuses at the ejection orifices can be suppressed with the presence of the bubble.

A pressing member for covering stepped portions of a movable member and root portions of branched movable parts is provided within a flow path. A part of the pressing member is tapered and extends to a downstream side (toward a discharge port) to be spaced apart from the movable member, thereby forming a flexure regulating portion opposed to and spaced apart from an intermediate portion of the movable member. The pressing member and the flexure regulating portion suppress excessive deformation of the movable member.

For this method, the discharge port plate is arranged in a state of these surfaces formed integrally to be in contact; bonding the aperture surface and the inner face to fit the extrusions into the flow path openings by pressing the head main body and the base in the direction of the head main body and the base approaching each other with the discharge port plate between them; and separating the base from other members.

An orifice plate is formed with a plurality of orifice holes arranged in parallel with one another for discharging ink.
