  • Patent number: 6786544
Abstract: A seat back structure of vehicle seat which is reduced in thickness and yet deformable to provide a deep cushiony touch to a back of passenger. According thereto, an elastic back support element and a back board element are respectively provided in one and another sides of seat back, and a movable connection element is provided so as to allow displacement of the back board element from a home position, while allowing the elastic back support element to be resiliently warped. The back board element is normally biased by a biasing element of the home position. A stopper element is defined in the seat back for preventing movement of the back board element from the home position to the elastic back support element. The back board element per se may be formed by a plurality of plate elements connected movably with one another.

  • Patent number: 6761402
Abstract: A structure of seat in which a reinforcing element is provided to protect it against deformation due to a lateral collision. The reinforcing element comprises a reinforcing rod and a pair of plate elements fixed to the respective two ends of the reinforcing rod. This reinforcing element is attached to the outer surface of a pre-assembled seat unit so as to extend transversely of the seat unit. Further, the two plate elements are disposed adjacent to a lateral side of the vehicle and adjacent to a floor tunnel in vehicle, respectively, so that a lateral load applied to the lateral side of vehicle is transmitted through the reinforcing element to the floor tunnel.

  • Patent number: 6666514
Abstract: A structure of revolving seat including a revolving frame member and a pedestal fixed at the side of a floor of vehicle. A latch unit is provided between the revolving frame member and pedestal to prevent breakage of the revolving seat and its associated revolving mechanism. The latch unit comprises: a first latch element including a protrudent portion and an engagement hole; and a second latch element including a latch pawl portion. The latch pawl portion of the second latch element is latchingly engaged in the engagement hole of the first latch element, thereby reinforcing the revolving frame member and allowing a great load applied to the revolving seat to be transmitted and escaped through the latch unit to the floor of vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6439666
Abstract: A structure of the so-called “pan frame” of seat cushion for use with a vehicle seat, which includes a primary reinforcing pattern press formed therein. The primary reinforcing pattern has a flat bottom region defined on its top and protrudes from the bottom wall of the seat-cushion pan frame. The primary reinforcing pattern further communicates with the securing areas where the frame is to be secured to a floor side of the vehicle. Hence, most of a load applied to the pan frame is dispersed via such pattern toward the securing areas, while being absorbed thereby. An auxiliary reinforcing pattern is press formed in the primary reinforcing pattern such as to surround each of the securing areas, thereby blocking further transmission of the load thereto.

  • Patent number: 6422526
Abstract: A structure of support leg member having a pair of reinforcing pieces formed laterally thereof, which is used with a seat slide device provided in an automotive seat, wherein an inclinable portion is defined in the upper securing portion of the support leg member on which a guide rail of the seat slide device is securely amounted. The inclinable portion allows the guide rail to be inclined by a great load applied thereto in excess of a tolerable amount, thereby protecting the seat slide device against damage. The inclinable portion, for instance, may comprise an upward protuberant bead formed in the upper securing portion so that a pair of spacings are defined between the guide rail and a base portion of that upper securing portion such as to allow inclination of the guide towards the center of the automotive seat.
