  • Process for producing unsaturated glycol diester using tellurium and rhodium catalyst

    Abstract: A method for production of unsaturated glycol diester, such as 1,4-diacetoxy-2-butene, is formed of reacting conjugated diene with carboxylic acid and molecular oxygen in the presence of a solid catalyst in the liquid phase under pressure. The catalyst is formed of rhodium and tellurium, which are supported on an inorganic porous carrier. The catalyst is stable, and the unsaturated glycol diester is prepared in high conversion and selectivity.
