Patent number: 5984547Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a seamless ink ribbon which makes it possible to markedly prolong the printing life, even with rather rough-faced printing paper such as paper made in China as well as a method of manufacturing the same. The seamless ink ribbon of the invention comprises a statically hot-pressed seamless woven fabric with multifilament yarn as warp and as weft. This ribbon is manufactured by subjecting a seamless woven fabric obtained by double weaving using multifilament yarn as warp and as weft to static hot pressing, without applying any shearing force, to thereby reduce the thickness of the fabric by 15 to 50% as compared with the thickness before pressing. The seamless fabric is fuse-cut to the ribbon width either before or after hot pressing.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1998Date of Patent: November 16, 1999Assignees: Kitamura Mfg., Co., Ltd., Fujicopian Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshiro Kitamura, Masami Shini, Zheng long Cai

Patent number: 5362556Abstract: A pressure-sensitive transfer recording medium adapted to overlapping strike printing on a low-noise impact printer, comprising a foundation, and a porous ink-releasing layer containing an ink paste provided on the foundation, the ink paste comprising a coloring agent, a liquid vehicle and a starch substance, the liquid vehicle comprising as a main component at least one member selected from the group consisting of a glycerol higher fatty acid ester, a polyglycerol higher fatty acid ester and a sorbitan higher fatty acid ester, the ink paste having a viscosity of 4.times.10.sup.3 to 12.times.10.sup.3 cp at 25.degree. C. The recording medium ensures images of a high density for an initial strike and an excellent printing durability, thereby giving clear images without blot or unevenness for a multiplicity of overlapping strikes at the same portion of the recording medium, in printing on a low-noise impact printer under low-temperature circumstances as well as under ordinary-temperature circumstances.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 1993Date of Patent: November 8, 1994Assignee: Fujicopian Co., Ltd.Inventor: Masami Shini

Patent number: 5279655Abstract: A printer ink composition containing a triphenylmethane dye or a lake pigment derived therefrom as a coloring agent, including as the coloring agent a triphenylmethane dye having general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are independently hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group, R.sup.5 is an aryl group, X.sup.- is a counter ion, and ring A or ring B may be substituted by one or more substituents, provided that at least one group among R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is not methyl and in the case that R.sup.5 is p-dimethylaminophenyl, at least one of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 and at least one of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are not methyl; or a lake pigment derived therefrom, in order to prevent the formation of Michler's ketone. The ink composition is used for printing media for printer such as fabric ink ribbon, ink roll, ink-retaining element, thermal transfer ink ribbon, and pressure-sensitive transfer ink ribbon.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1992Date of Patent: January 18, 1994Assignee: Fujicopian Co., Ltd.Inventors: Chiyoko Takazawa, Hisayuki Akasako, Masami Shini, Yoshikazu Shimazaki

Patent number: 4975332Abstract: A recording medium for electrothermal transfer printing comprising a base film, an adhesiveness improving layer provided on one surface of the base film, an electrically resistive layer provided on the adhesiveness improving layer, and a heat-sensitive transfer ink layer provided on the other surface of the base film, said electrically resistive layer comprising a binder comprising a polyvinyl butyral resin as a main component, an electrically conductive powder and an inorganic metallic compound type flame retardant. The content of an electrically conductive powder such as a conductive carbon in the resistive layer can be increased to reduce the electric resistance of the resistive layer and problems such as peeling of the resistive layer can be prevented, and a satisfactory flame resistance can be obtained without increasing the resistivity of the resistive layer. Thus, the electrothermal transfer printing can be conducted satisfactorily without any dangerousness.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1989Date of Patent: December 4, 1990Assignee: Fuji Kagakushi Kogyo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masami Shini, Masao Matsumoto, Akio Shimomine, Atsuo Saiki
