  • Patent number: 8197897
Abstract: Provided is a method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire which enables an inner liner layer made of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition to be formed without decreasing the productivity and deterioration the working environment. Powder 8 of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition having an average particle diameter of not more than 1 mm is sprayed and adhered onto the inner surface of an uncured tire or a cured tire. Thereafter, the inner surface of the tire is heated under pressure so as to thermally fuse the powder 8 and bond the powder 8 to the inner surface of the tire, thereby forming an inner liner layer 7.

  • Publication number: 20100108221
Abstract: A pneumatic tire and a process for manufacturing the same which enable, in the use of a film of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition obtained by blending an elastomer in a thermoplastic resin as an air permeation preventive layer, formation of the air permeation preventive layer excelling in gas barrier performance, and molding of the tire through a simple molding operation without generating any unnecessary scraps. For the pneumatic tire of the present invention, a cylindrical molded article composed of a film of a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition obtained by blending an elastomer in a thermoplastic resin is crushed into a sheet-like laminate; and the sheet-like laminate is used as the air permeation preventive layer. In the manufacturing operation, the sheet-like laminate is wrapped around a making drum so that an unvulcanized tire having the sheet-like laminate as an air permeation preventive layer is molded, and the unvulcanized tire is vulcanized.

  • Patent number: 5367036
Abstract: A moisture-curable urethane-based sealing composition is made up of an urethane prepolymer and a polyurethane compound blended together in specified amounts. The urethane prepolymer is derivable by reacting a selected class of polyether polyols with a selected class of polyisocyanate compounds. The polyurethane compound is available by reacting a selected class of polyether or polyester polyols with a selected class of polyisocyanate compounds, followed by reaction of the resulting prepolymer with a selected class of monoalcohols to thereby binder all isocyanate groups in the prepolymer. The ultimate sealant is adequate in initial adhesion strength, low in glass transition temperature and resistant to moist heat.

  • Patent number: 4810098
Abstract: There is disclosed a process for preparing a one-component type sealant, comprising the steps of mixing powdery raw material such as prepolymer and additives admixed or not admixed with a predetermined amount of plasticizer in a mixer in a hermetically closed system, continuously degassing the mixed pasty material in a degassing line, and mixing the degassed mixture with catalyst admixed or not admixed with plasticizer.
