  • Patent number: 8350559
Abstract: A position detection apparatus includes a position pointer having a coil and a sensor unit for detecting the position of the position pointer. The sensor unit has a sensor board including a plurality of loop coils juxtaposed and extending in a predetermined direction, and the sensor unit detects a signal generated in the loop coils by electromagnetic induction between the coil of the position pointer and the loop coils, to thereby detect the position of the position pointer. The sensor unit further includes a shield member disposed on the sensor board remotely from the position pointer for reducing noise, and a magnetic path sheet formed from a plurality of magnetic path members of a substantially rectangular shape having a higher magnetic permeability than that of the shield member and disposed between the sensor board and the shield member.

  • Patent number: 7428469
Abstract: A three-dimensional-information detecting system includes a switching portion that sequentially selects sensor coils of a three-dimensional-information detecting device. Electromagnetic coupling is used to perform signal transmission and reception between the sensor coils and input coils in input elements of a three-dimensional-information inputting device which are mutually perpendicularly provided. A signal received by a selected sensor coil is detected by a detecting portion. From the detected signal, three-dimensional information, such as the position and attitude of the three-dimensional-information inputting device, is calculated by a control unit.

  • Patent number: 6952201
Abstract: A three-dimensional information sensor device is disclosed in which sensor coils thereof are sequentially selected by a control section. Signals are communicated between indicating coils of a three-dimensional information indicating device and sensor coils by electromagnetic coupling. The signals received by each of the selected coils are detected by detecting means. The position and the direction of the indicating device in a three-dimensional apace are calculated by control means based on the detected signals.

  • Patent number: 6928383
Abstract: A motion capture system includes a motion capture detecting device with sensor coils that are sequentially selected by a control section. Signals are communicated between respective input coils of input elements of an input device and the sensor coils by electromagnetic coupling. The signals received by each of the selected coils are detected by a detecting section. Three-dimensional coordinates and directions of each of the input elements are calculated by a control section so that the input elements become continuous, based on the detected signals by the detecting section.

  • Patent number: 6433781
Abstract: An orientation-detecting apparatus has an orientation-designating device which is provided with a plurality of orientation-designating coils whose coil planes face in different directions. Each of the orientation-designating coils forms a resonance circuit having a resonant frequency different from the resonant frequencies of the other resonance circuits. An orientation-detecting sensor includes a plurality of orientation-detecting coils L, M, L′, and M′ which are radially disposed and are electromagnetically coupled to the orientation-designating coils. The orientation-designating device is placed at the center position O of the orientation-detecting sensor. By transmitting and receiving signals between the orientation-designating coils and the orientation-detecting coils L, M, L′, and M′, orientations of the orientation-designating device in three-dimensional space are detected as absolute values.

  • Patent number: 6286619
Abstract: An all terrain vehicle includes an engine and a final drive assembly. The engine includes an output shaft that supports a drive sprocket or pulley. The final drive assembly comprises an input shaft that supports a driven sprocket or pulley and a brake disc. A flexible transmitter such as a belt or a chain connects the drive sprocket or pulley and the driven sprocket or pulley. The final drive assembly is formed separate of the engine and spaced apart from the engine when the two components are mounted to a frame of the vehicle. The driven sprocket or pulley is positioned on an upper portion of the final drive assembly while a lower portion of the final drive assembly is pivotally connected to the frame. The final drive assembly can be pivoted to adjust a tension level within the flexible transmitter. The final drive assembly can be selectively secured in a pivotal position by a support rod and/or a set of slotted brackets.
