  • Patent number: 6773775
Abstract: A multilayer sealant film for use in the medical field at least comprises as its innermost layer a first layer comprising at least one resin selected from the group consisting of linear low-density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene, polypropylene and polybutene-1, and a third layer comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and laminated to the outer side of the first layer with a second layer serving as an adhesive layer and comprising a resin containing, as a main component, at least one of an amorphous polyolefin, adherent polyolefin and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. The ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer forming the third layer functions as a barrier for preventing contaminants from migrating from outside of the third layer toward the first layer (innermost layer). Further, it is possible to improve the formability of the multilayer film since the difference in density between the resin for forming the first layer and the resin for forming the second layer is set to be 0.02 g/cm3 or less.

  • Patent number: 5922461
Abstract: This invention provides a method for inhibiting adsorption of container-derived contaminants on a powdery or solid drug which comprises establishing a lower alcohol vapor phase within a container made, at least in part, of rubber or a plastic material. The method inhibits adsorption of container-derived substances on a drug to preclude development of insoluble particulate matter owing to said adsorption in an aqueous solution prepared extemporaneously without causing loss of the drug and avoiding the toxic effect of decomposition or degradation of the drug, thus insuring a long-term trouble-free stable shelf-life of the drug.

  • Patent number: 5762944
Abstract: The invention presents an antithrombotic resin which is prepared by blending at least one type of antithrombotics, in polyurethane or polyurethane urea polymerized by using at least one type of polyether diol selected from the group consisting of polyol containing a polyoxyethylene group expressed in formula (I).paren open-st.CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O.paren close-st..sub.n (I)(where n is a number-average degree of polymerization of 1 to 100) and polyol containing a polyoxyethylene group expressed in formula (II).paren open-st.CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O.paren close-st..sub.m(II)(where m is a number-average degree of polymerization of 1 to 100). This antithrombotic resin is capable of eluting the antithrombotic in the blood for a long time at high concentration. By using the antithrombotic resin of the invention, antithrombotic tube, antithrombotic film, antithrombotic coat, and others are obtained.
