    Abstract: In a sealing device of the present invention, a support ring (40) is fitted in an annular recessed part (23t) formed on the inner peripheral surface of a seal lip part (23) independently of a reinforcement ring (30) to support the seal lip part (23) from the inner peripheral side, and the support ring (40) is supported axially by a reinforcement ring (30) via an interposed part (23u). Thereby, when a rotating shaft (S) is inserted into the seal ring (20), a contact area between a seal part (23e) and the rotating shaft (S) can be made appropriate, and when a high pressure is applied to the seal lip part (23), an increase in contact area between the seal part (23e) and the rotating shaft (S) can be suppressed within an appropriate range and the seal part becomes able to follow the eccentricity of the rotating shaft (S).

    Abstract: A shaft sealing device whose parts can be produced and assembled on a material-by-material basis to enable cost of the parts to be reduced and in which the parts can be disassembled on a material-by-material basis to enable the materials to be reused. A shaft sealing device (1) is composed of a seal section (2), a reinforcement ring (5), and a seal sleeve (10). The seal section (2) is made from a rubber-like elastic material and has a fitting section (4) sealingly fittable on a hole forming surface of a housing (60); a fitting recess section (4B) formed in a region that is from a side surface on the opposite side of to-be-sealed fluid (L) of the fitting section (4) to the to-be-sealed fluid (L) side; an annular seal lip (3) provided on the inner periphery of the fitting section (4); and a seal surface (3A1) provided inside the seal lip (3).
