Abstract: To determine the state of a subject person with a simple structure, an image determining device includes: an imaging unit that captures an image from a first direction, the image including the subject person; a first detector that detects size information from the image, the size information being about the subject person in the first direction; a second detector that detects position-related information, the position-related information being different from the information detected by the first detector; and a determining unit that determines the state of the subject person, based on a result of the detection performed by the first detector and a result of the detection performed by the second detector.

Abstract: A disposable absorbent undergarment such as a diaper includes short pants and a liquid-absorbent pad attached to an inner surface of the short pants. The short pants has a front waist section, a rear waist section, a crotch section interposed therebetween, a waist-opening and a pair of leg-openings. The crotch section, the waist-opening and the leg-openings are elastically stretchable. A circumferential region defined by portions of the front and rear waist sections between the waist opening and upper ends of the leg-openings is also elastically stretchable.

Abstract: A disposable diaper having a pair of cuffs longitudinally extending on the inner surface of the diaper along transversely opposite sides thereof across front and rear sections as well as a crotch section longitudinally interdisposed between these two sections, wherein each cuff has a substantially crescent-shaped elastic sheet bonded in its longitudinally stretched state to the inner surface along its longitudinally opposite ends and an outer arc defined between these ends.

Abstract: An absorbent pants type article has a front waist-opening marginal stretchable region and a front waist stretchable region having upper, intermediate and lower stretchable subregions. The elongation stress of the front waist-opening marginal stretchable region is greater than the corresponding stress in the lower stretchable subregion. The stress in the lower stretchable region is greater than the stress in the upper stretchable subregion which is in turn greater than the stress in the intermediate stretchable subregion.

Abstract: Here is disclosed a flexible plastic sheet comprising a plurality of first direction ribs (Y.sub.1, Y.sub.2 . . . ) each having opposite sides (12, 13) extending in the first direction (Y) and curved downward crossing a plurality of second direction ribs (X.sub.1, X.sub.2 . . . ) each having opposite sides (14, 15) extending in the second direction (X) and curved downward. The sheet is continuous in an area surrounded by each pair of adjacent first direction ribs and each pair of adjacent second direction ribs which cross the pair of adjacent first direction ribs. At each crossing (C.sub.1, C.sub.2, C.sub.3, C.sub.4), one of the ribs bulges upward and the opposite side edges of this rib are connected to the top of the other rib. The plastic sheet of this invention is featured by less gloss and less sticky touch, and is preferably used as a liquid-impermeable backsheet of a disposable hygienic wearable article.

The plastic sheet of this invention is featured by less gloss and less sticky touch, and preferably used as a topsheet of a disposable hygienic wearable article.
