  • Patent number: 5579869
Abstract: This invention is concerned in a secondary conductor for an elevator-driving linear induction motor in which, in connecting secondary conductor members to one another, adjoining portions of secondary conductor members are cut and engaged with one another by lapping them over each other, and the edge portions of them are joined at least on one side with a fastening member or by pressure joining or by welding, whereby the difficulty is eliminated that the secondary conductor members, being bent for instance, are raised to form a step therebetween, so that the secondary conductor members are brought into contact with or struck against the primary windings of the linear induction motor, and the secondary conductor members and the primary windings are damaged.

  • Patent number: 5345047
Abstract: The present invention provides a linear motor driven elevator apparatus which enables a decrease in the thrust variation at the passage of primary windings of a linear induction motor loaded on a car or a balance weight through joints of secondary conductors and which can prevent an unpleasant impression from being given to the passengers. In the elevator apparatus, each of the connections of the secondary conductor members of the linear induction motor serving as a drive source for vertically driving an elevator car has a structure in which each of the secondary conductor members is notched to about half of the thickness thereof, and the notch portions are superposed. The length of each of the notch portions is set to a value greater than the pole pitch of the primary windings of the linear induction motor, and the set heights of the joints are different from each other.

  • Patent number: 5196656
Abstract: An elevator door control apparatus includes an alternating current motor for opening and closing an elevator door. An inverter for converts a DC voltage from a first DC power supply into an AC voltage and supplies it to the motor. A first switching device for connects and disconnects the inverter and the motor, and a second switching device connects and disconnects a second DC power supply and the motor. A detection device detects at least one of an abnormality of the first DC power supply and an abnormality of the motor. A control device, at normal times supplies an AC voltage from the inverter to the motor by means of the first switching device and cuts off a DC voltage from the second DC power supply to the motor by means of the second switching device.

  • Patent number: 5131506
Abstract: A system for controlling operation of an elevator car door includes a torque command output device for outputting a torque command for controlling a car door driving motor on the basis of a difference between a speed command commanding the operating speed of the motor and the actual speed of operation of the motor, a door position detector for detecting the position of the car door in terms of the number of pulses in a pulse train produced by an encoder connected to the motor, and a memory for storing torque limit values as a function of the door position. The system also has a controller which reads the torque limit value corresponding to the car door position detected by the door position detector. The controller then compares the read torque limit value with a torque command output from the torque command output device and generates a reversing instruction to be given to the motor upon determining that the torque command is not smaller than the torque limit value.
