  • Patent number: 5525890
Abstract: A battery unit of a cartridge type for use as a power supply for electric motorcars, broadcasting apparatus and the like comprises a battery, a monitoring unit for monitoring the condition of the battery and storing information about the battery, a display for displaying data obtained by the monitoring unit, an I/O unit for sending out data representing the condition of the battery monitored by the monitoring unit to an external device, and a battery identification output unit for sending out a battery identification signal representing the type of the battery. The monitoring unit comprises a voltage measuring unit for measuring the supply voltage of the battery, a current measuring unit for measuring the current supplied from the battery, a temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of the battery, and a clock for indicating passage of time. The monitoring unit determines the quantity of residual electrical energy remaining in the battery when replacing the battery with a fully charged battery.

  • Patent number: 4696827
Abstract: A molded product consisting mainly of silicon carbide and a process for mfacturing the same. This invention is to provide a product having a desired or complicated shape and a process which enables the manufacture of any such product at a drastically lower temperature than any conventional process. This object is attained by applying an organic silicon polymer having a skeleton composed mainly of carbon-silicon bonds by impregnation or adherence to a base material having a desired shape, and by burning the base material at a temperature of 700.degree. C. to 2,000.degree. C. in a vacuum or in a nonoxidizing gas atmosphere. The product of this invention has a fibrous, granular and/or firmly carbon structure in the matrix consisting mainly of SiC. The product of this invention is useful for a wide variety of applications, for example, for making heat-resistant structural members of electronic devices.

  • Patent number: 4281223
Abstract: An electro-acoustic transducer, such as a loudspeaker, a microphone, or the like, comprises a magnetic circuit having at least one air gap, a current conductor disposed in the air gap of the magnetic circuit to form a voice coil which is traversed by magnetic flux, and a vibratory structure mechanically coupled to the voice coil. The vibratory structure is comprised of a heat resistant film containing an epoxide-modified resin in which a heterocyclic compound containing a polyimide group is the main component. The voice coil is non-adhesively secured to the vibratory structure. For example, the voice coil is formed of a conductive substrate onto which the vibratory structure is coated and from which portions have been etched to form a generally spiral-shaped conductor. In one embodiment, the vibratory structure is a diaphragm; and in another embodiment, the vibratory structure is a bobbin having the voice coil wound thereon.
