  • Patent number: 8182093
Abstract: An image projection apparatus according to the present invention includes a light source for outputting laser light and a mirror section for reflecting and projecting the laser light having been output from the light source, and displays an image with at least a portion of the projected laser light. The image projection apparatus includes a detection section for detecting at least a portion of the laser light returning from a projection direction of the laser light, and a calculation section for determining an image displayable region based on the detected light. The mirror section reflects at least a portion of the laser light returning from the projection direction of the laser light so as to be led into the detection section.

  • Publication number: 20100242059
Abstract: A disc-shaped optical data recording medium has a signal recording layer for reading and/or writing data using light, and a 10 ?m to 200 ?m thick transparent protective layer disposed over the signal recording layer. The optical data recording medium includes a protrusion projecting from a surface of the transparent protective layer on a light-incidence surface side to which light is emitted to the signal recording layer. The protrusion is disposed in an area between a center hole and a clamping area where the optical data recording medium is held when reading and/or writing data in the signal recording layer.

  • Patent number: 7778135
Abstract: The present invention provides an optical information medium capable of suppressing the influence of reflection light from an unnecessary information recording face and effectively eliminating spherical aberration at the time of recording/reproducing information to/from a recording medium having a plurality of information recording faces. When reflectance of an information recording face is ?h and transmittance between information recording faces is th, ?h and th of the optical information medium are set so as to satisfy ((?(h?1)2×?(h?2))/(th2×?h))<0.01.

  • Patent number: 7272101
Abstract: A light beam emitted from a light source is focused by an objective lens onto an information recording surface of an optical information recording medium. The objective lens has a substantially truncated-cone-shaped portion on its surface on the side of the optical information recording medium. This makes it possible to prevent interference with a DVD-RAM cartridge and ensure optical compatibility with a BD and a DVD.
