  • Patent number: 7177636
Abstract: To reduce change on a cellular network side required at the time of utilizing a cellular network by way of an IP network. A radio terminal 110 puts a location registration message for a cellular network 100 on an IP packet, and sends the message to an access point 102. This IP packet is transferred to a control proxy server 131. The control proxy server 131 stores a correspondence between identification information on a radio terminal and an IP address based on a location registration request. If necessary, the location registration request is converted into the location registration message in compliance with a standard of the cellular network 100. The location registration message is transferred to an MSC/VLR 121 via a gateway 130. As the gateway 130 looks like an ordinary base station to the MSC/VLR 121 and an ordinary location registration message is usable, any change on the cellular network side is not necessary.

  • Patent number: 6111937
Abstract: This invention is characterized by providing an apparatus for automatically discriminating service users which can prevent troubles from occurring between the service provider and users because of difference in language. When the service provider has a call from a user, the service provider makes an announcement to the user to request the voicing of a specific keyword. If an answer by the keyword is made from the user, it is determined whether or not it is an answer by the correct keyword. If correct, the call is connected to the service provider. If not correct, how to use the service is announced in another language. Then, the line is disconnected. As a result, a user who is weak in the language used by the service provider can be prevented from being connected to the service provider.

  • Patent number: 5960063
Abstract: A telephone speech recognition system is provided which has a high level of speech recognition without affecting from various conditions of a telephone line. The system comprises speech analyzers (4) and (5), and reference speech model storages (7) to (9) corresponding to line connection data. A telephone line interface (1) having a line connection data acquisition function analyzes a call received from the telephone line for identifying the country, route, and other information of the call and transmits those line connection data to a line connection data processor (2). The line connection data processor (2) selects one of the acoustic analyzers (4) and (5) in response to the line connection data from the interface (1) and also one of the speech model storages (7) to (9). A speech pattern matcher (11) compares an acoustic vector train output of the selected acoustic analyzer with the speech models given from the selected reference speech model storage for speech recognition.

  • Patent number: 5270701
Abstract: A service processing system has a plurality of service processing nodes each having a single local data base, and a plurality of exchanges each of which is coupled user terminals. Said service processing nodes are coupled with one another through communication lines. A query by a user terminal is transferred to a local data base through an exchange to which the user terminal belongs. When a response to the query is stored in that data base, said response is directly given to the exchange from said local data base. On the other hand, when the local data base does not store the response the query of the user terminal is transferred to another service processing node which is designated by the local data base through the communication line between the service processing nodes. The response obtained in said other service processing node returns to the first local service processing node.

  • Patent number: 5062106
Abstract: An ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) exchange system for high speed packet exchange with a fixed length packet is implemented by a plurality of cell handlers (10-1 through 10-n) each related to each ATM channel, and a plurality of buses coupled with the cell handlers. An input user cell is subject to add routing information including an output cell handler number (403) and an output virtual channel identifier (404) by a virtual channel converter (12) and a routing header adder (13). The user cell which has routing information is forwarded to the bus. The cell on the bus is read out by all the cell handlers, and the particular cell handler in which the number of cell handlers coincide with the cell handler number in routing information takes the cell on the bus. In the cell handler, the cell itself read out of the bus is stored in the cell buffer memory (16), and the address of the cell buffer memory (16) of the cell is stored in the queue buffer (18).

  • Patent number: 4923265
Abstract: A light triggering switch is disclosed for switching the optical path of an input optical signal to a desired output optical path. A portion of an optical control signal of a predetermined wavelength is branched by a branching filter. An electrically-controlled optical switch is provided for converting the branched optical control signal into an electrical signal and for switching the optical signal to the desired output optical path in accordance with the intensity of the converted electrical signal. In place of the electrically-controlled optical switch, a nonlinear reflector type optical switch may be provided for switching the optical signal to the desired output optical path in accordance with the intensity of the branched optical control signal.

  • Patent number: 4910766
Abstract: In a communication system which handles both a demand call, and a reservation call which appoints the start time and the end time of the communication, the reservation call must be connected at the desired time even if the circuits are full of the demand calls. The service process node which has a data base storing the information of the reservation calls, tries to connect the reservation call repetitively until the scheduled end time of the reservation call in every predetermined pause, if the circuits are full of the demand calls. Also, when it is anticipated that the circuits would be full at the desired time, the service process node suggests to the subscriber the alternative time for reservation.

  • Patent number: 4894861
Abstract: A terminal in communication network for notifying an originating party's number is disclosed which transfers the subscriber's number of an originating party to a terminating party at the time of setting up an incoming call. A plurality of subscriber's numbers of those from whom incoming calls are anticipated and ID information corresponding to each of the subscriber's number are pre-registered. An output command indicating that one of the registered subscriber's number has coincided with the subscriber's number of an originating party transferred at the time of occurrence of the incoming call is generated. In response to the output command, an audible indication of the ID information corresponding to the registered subscriber's number is provided.

  • Patent number: 4792800
Abstract: A local communication system among ISDN terminal equipment in a user's premises are connected to a local passive bus of the LSDN basic-access interface. The present system can establish the local communication through a network termination unit among ISDN termination equipment. In order to establish such a local communication, a multiframing scheme is taken on a passive bus forming multiframes by combining together the predetermined number of frames which are as defined in the I.400 series of CCITT recommendations. The network termination unit has a switching device for coupling two circuit-switched type communication channels (B1, B2) on the passive bus in one direction of transmission with the two other channels (B2, B1) in the other direction to establish local communication. Alternatively, the switching device couples the two channels on the passive bus with those on the subscribed line to establish external communication.

  • Patent number: 4722082
Abstract: The ISDN user-network interface is defined in the CCITT D-channel protocol recommendation (I-400 series recommendations), in which many kinds of communication terminals (e.g. faximile, telephone, teletex, etc.) can communicate through a subscriber line. The user-network interface is improved from the view point of effectiveness of terminal usage, provision of communication service, and, flexibility of system configuration, by providing a control terminal in the subscriber. The control terminal doubles as ordinary terminal equipment, and has a global control function for controlling other subscriber terminal equipment. The control terminal establishes and/or releases a local control phase in which a control terminal controls ordinary terminal equipment in the same subscriber to have them correspond to the communication with another subscriber using the means which belong to the ordinary terminal equipment inherently.

  • Patent number: 4692917
Abstract: In a packet switching system of the present invention, a packet handler is facilitated for each incoming circuit to the switching system. The packet handler analyzes the header of each incoming packet from the correspondent circuit and decides the outgoing route of the packet. The packet is then sent out to an outgoing circuit of the decided route, the rest of it including the data field not being stored in the switching system, through a conventional cross-point switch for circuit-switching. Thus, elimination of storing the whole packet raises the efficiency of packet processing and shortens the processing delay. The use of a cross-point switch enables the functional sharing of the system by circuit-switched calls and packet-switched calls.
