  • Patent number: 6111221
Abstract: A heat fixing roll includes a silicone rubber layer on a cylindrical metal mandrel having a penetration of at least 10 according to ASTM D1403 and a fluoroplastic layer thereon. The silicone rubber layer is obtained by molding and curing an addition reaction type liquid silicone rubber composition to the mandrel. The roll provides a sufficient nip width under low pressure, improved abrasion resistance, long-lasting toner release, and a satisfactory fixing function even at a high speed over a long period of time.

  • Patent number: 5506303
Abstract: A process for preparing a liquid silicone rubber base composition of the type which comprises (A) an organopolysiloxane of the following average compositional formula (1)R.sub.a SiO.sub.(4-a)/2 (1)wherein each R independently represents an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group and a is a value of from 1.95 to 2.05, and (B) a finely divided silica filler is described. The process comprises the steps of mixing a first portion of the ingredient (A) and the ingredient (B) at a temperature not higher than 80.degree. C., further mixing a second portion of the ingredient (A) with the mixture obtained in the first step at a temperature not higher than 80.degree. C. and subjecting the resultant mixture to thermal treatment at a temperature of 130.degree. to 200.degree. C. By this, the base composition has good fluidity and is able to yield a cured product having good tear strength under stress.

  • Patent number: 5352724
Abstract: An addition-curable type silicone rubber composition comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane having an alkenyl group such as vinyl in its molecule, (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least two SiH groups in its molecule, (C) a platinum catalyst such as platinum, chloroplatinic acid, etc., (D) an inorganic filler, (E) an organic titanium compound such as tetraethyl titanate, and (F) water. The composition exhibits good fluidity, and behaves like a Newtonian fluid, even where carbon black or a silica or alumina having an average particle diameter of 1 .mu.m or above is incorporated in the composition as an inorganic filler for improving such characteristics as heat resistance, thermal conductivity, etc.

  • Patent number: 4818805
Abstract: Curable or vulcanizable fluorinated silicone compositions which comprise a uniform mixture of predetermined amounts of an organopolysiloxane of the following average unit formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and a and b are, respectively, a defined value; an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least three SiH groups in one molecule and consisting of the several siloxane units; and a catalytic amount of a platinum compound. If necessary, another type of polysiloxane may be added to the above composition in order to further improve physical properties. • Patent number: 4128909
Abstract: The Gramophone record cleaner proposed is of the roller type having a sticky surface formed of a rubbery organopolysiloxane elastomer having a relatively low hardness and adapted to pick up dirt or dust and other contaminants from within the grooves of a record as the roller is passed over the record surface. The roller-type cleaners are superior in their easy performance of complete dirt removal in repeated operations, since the sticky surface of the roller once choked with contaminants can be cleaned simply by rinsing with water.
