Abstract: A center console 20 is formed by covering a console main body 35 by a skin main body 31 having a joined portion 37 where end portions of an upper surface skin material 31a and a side surface skin material 31b are joined together. On the skin main body 31, core members 38, 39 are provided along the joined portion 37, and a recessed portion 35a formed in an edge portion of the console main body 35 and a raised portion 37a formed by the core members 38, 39 on the side of the skin main body 31 are fitted on or in together.

Abstract: Operation switches, which a passenger operates with his/her fingers, are disposed on the front end of the upper portion of a console box, and a palm rest on which the passenger rests his/her palm is set rearward of the operation switches. An operation knob that releases the locked state of the console box is disposed on a lower portion of the palm rest in a range where the passenger can reach the operation knob with his/her fingers. Consequently, when the passenger wishes to adjust the front-rear position of the palm rest, the passenger can move the console box by simply lifting up the operation knob with one hand to release the locked state, and without having to conduct an operation such as opening a lid or the like.

Abstract: An air-conditioning register includes a register panel, and a cylinder-shaped retainer. The register panel is disposed in a vehicle passenger room, and has an outlet opening for air-conditioning air. The retainer demarcates a ventilation passage communicated with the outlet opening of the register panel, and has an inner opposite end and a register-panel-side opposite end. The register-panel-side opposite end of the retainer includes at least one member selected from the group consisting of a top-surface wall, a bottom-surface wall and paired side-surface walls, which demarcates a surface of the ventilation passage, and which is disposed movably so as to make the surface movable between diminishing the ventilation passage and enlarging the ventilation passage adjacent to the outlet opening of the register panel.

Abstract: An air-conditioning register includes: a register panel exhibited in a compartment and having an opening for flowing out conditioned air; a retainer provided so as to cave in the register panel and having an air passage communicating with the opening; a vertical fin unit including vertical fins received in the retainer and capable of adjusting a wind direction of the conditioned air horizontally; a horizontal fin unit including horizontal fins received in the retainer and capable of adjusting a wind direction of the conditioned air vertically; and an open/close damper received in the retainer and capable of opening/closing the air passage. The air-conditioning register further includes a common operation portion capable of operating the vertical fin unit, the horizontal fin unit and the open/close damper.

The groove portion is covered with a base member, and the circumferential edge of the base member is bonded to the light guide plate. Concave portions or convex portions having desired shapes are provided in a surface opposite to a light emission observable surface of the light guide plate so as to form character portions.

Abstract: A storage box including a body, a lid and an arm member. The body is provided with a storage portion and a guide portion. The lid is provided with a sliding portion engaged with and directed by the guide portion. The arm member is held rotatably by the body at a first end thereof, and is held rotatably by the lid at a second end thereof. This construction accommodates various loads or forces applied to the lid during opening and closing, thereby decreasing overall strain upon the storage box and eliminating the need to reinforce the body, the lid and the arm member. The result is a functionally simplified yet strengthened storage box capable of being manufactured at reduced costs.
