  • Patent number: 6188049
Abstract: An initial power feed quantity to be provided at the start to an electric heater equipped to an air-fuel ratio sensor is set corresponding to the temperature of a sensor element, and at the same time, the increase control time for increasingly changing the power feed quantity from said initial power feed quantity to the maximum power feed quantity is set corresponding to the temperature of the sensor element, and according to said initial power feed quantity and said increase control time, the power feed quantity to said electric heater is increased gradually from the start.

  • Patent number: 6035839
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to be able to correct for deviation of an actual air-fuel ratio from a point for satisfactory purification performance of an exhaust gas purification catalytic converter, during an interval from immediately after start up until an air-fuel ratio sensor and an exhaust gas purification catalytic converter attain a stable condition. To achieve this, a control constant in an air-fuel ratio feedback control is set and altered during an interval from immediately after start up until the air-fuel ratio sensor and the exhaust gas purification catalytic converter attain a stable condition. In this way, the actual air-fuel ratio can be shifted, and hence the deviation of the actual air-fuel ratio from the point for satisfactory purification performance of the exhaust gas purification catalytic converter during the interval from immediately after start up until the air-fuel ratio sensor and the exhaust gas purification catalytic converter attain a stable condition, can be corrected.

  • Patent number: 5483940
Abstract: A basic discharge QK Of a fuel pump is determined based on an engine load and an engine rotational speed, and further a correction amount QG for correcting the basic discharge QK based on comparison of an actual fuel pressure PT with a target pressure Po is learnt for every driving conditions. Then, the basic discharge QK is corrected with the correction amount QG, whereas in a transient condition, the basic discharge QK is corrected with a transient correction amount QT set on the basis of a variation rate .DELTA.PT Of the fuel pressure PT. Thus, it is possible to ensure that an amount of fuel required by an engine is surely supplied without excess fuel supply from the fuel pump.

  • Patent number: 5285639
Abstract: Secondary air is supplied to a position upstream of a catalyst disposed in an exhaust passage of an engine. An oxygen sensor is disposed between a secondary air supply portion of the exhaust passage and the catalyst. The supply amount of the secondary air is feedback controlled so that the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas detected by the oxygen sensor approaches a target value corresponding to a theoretical air/fuel ratio. A second oxygen sensor for air/fuel ratio control is disposed upstream of the secondary air supply portion. Air/fuel ratio feedback control adjusts the air/fuel ratio of air entering the engine so that the oxygen concentration at the second oxygen sensor approaches the same target value as at the other oxygen sensor.

  • Patent number: 4911132
Abstract: A fuel injection control system is directed a sequential injection type fuel injection internal combustion engine for injecting fuel to each engine cylinder at different timings. Acceleration enrichment asynchronous fuel injection is initiated in response to an acceleration demand. Acceleration enrichment is further performed for subsequent injection cycles to compensate for engine load indicative sensor signals which differ from actual engine load due to errors in an air flow meter.

  • Patent number: 4889100
Abstract: A fuel injection control system is directed for a sequential injection type fuel injection internal combustion engine for injecting fuel for each engine cylinder at different timing. Acceleration enrichment asynchroneous fuel injection is initiated in response to an acceleration demand. Acceleration enrichment is further performed for subsequent given injection cycles for compensation of smaller engine load indicative sensor signal than actual engine load due to error in an air flow meter.
