  • Patent number: 7003273
Abstract: A temperature compensating circuit is provided in a radio unit, an ambient temperature is detected by a temperature sensor of the temperature compensating circuit, the detected temperature value is supplied to a correction address storage section as an address after it is converted to a digital value, and thus a correction address corresponding to a correct temperature value obtained by correcting the detected temperature value is read out. Then, the correction address is supplied to a frequency correction data storage section to read out frequency correction data corresponding to the corrected temperature value, and the frequency correction data is converted to an analog control voltage by a D/A converter and then supplied to a variable capacitance element of a reference oscillator, thereby making it possible to correct the reference oscillation frequency according to the temperature.

  • Patent number: 6661383
Abstract: In a helical antenna for use in a portable communication terminal containing a radio unit which transmits and receives a radio signal, an antenna element is connectable to the radio unit, and contains a bottom portion formed into a helical portion and a top portion formed into a linear portion, the linear portion being positioned along a screw axis of the helical portion. A cap houses the antenna element if the cap covers the antenna element from a top end of the antenna element. A position portion is provided in the cap and positions the linear portion of the antenna element along the screw axis of the helical portion. By virtue of this structure, an appropriate distance can be reliably secured between the antenna element and a human body, thereby maintaining a good characteristic of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 5890071
Abstract: In response to a reception of a incoming signal by a receiver during operation of a turner circuit, a controller shifts a changeover switch and at the same time cause a ringing tone generator to output a ringing tone via a loudspeaker in a tuner section, thereby permitting the user listening to a broadcast to surely hear the ringing tone. In response to an operation to a control panel in a reception state of a telephone receiver, the controller causes the tuner circuit to operate and at the same time controlling a power supply switch to stop on-off switching, keeping the switch on to continuously supply electric power to the telephone section. Thus, power supply noise caused by the intermittent supply of power is prevented from affecting the tuner section, thereby checking a deterioration in the quality of broadcast voice.

  • Patent number: 5111501
Abstract: A telephone terminal device equipped with a transmitter microphone, a receiver, a speech recognition unit that receives and recognizes speech signals from the transmitter microphone and a circuit to reduce the level of signals send from a telephone network to the receiver when the speech recognition unit receives speech signals from the transmitter microphone. Further, this device is preferably equipped with a speech reproduction unit that reproduces the speech information stored in a memory, in response to the information of recognition result from the speech recognition unit, and a circuit that prevents transmission of signals from the telephone network to the receiver when the regenerated speech information is sent to the receiver. Furthermore, it is desirable for this device to be provided with a circuit that prevents generation of ringing tones when an incoming call arrives.

  • Patent number: 5073928
Abstract: A cordless telephone system comprising a master set, a slave set, and a charger includes terminals for connecting the slave set and the charger so that communication of speech signals and control signals can be conducted. The charger includes an automatic answering circuit incorporated therein. When the automatic answering circuit receives a control signal indicative of a cell incoming through the terminals from the slave set, this circuit executes an automatic answering service such as a service to reproduce an answering message to transmit the reproduced answering message to the slave set through the terminals thereafter to record a message from a person on the other side of the line transmitted from the slave set through the terminals.

  • Patent number: 5050206
Abstract: There is provided a telephone system including a recording/reproducing section for recording an answering message to be transmitted to a calling subscriber and for reproducing the answering message, wherein a predetermined command from the calling subscriber is received through a telephone line during sending of the reproduced answering message to the telephone line, a predetermined operation is executed in correspondence with the command. In this telephone system, there are provided sections (25, 107) for generating a soundless period discrimination signal indicating a soundless period of the answering message at the time of recording the answering message, and command reception sections (11, 20, 21) for receiving the command signal in response to the soundless period discrimination signal at the time of sending the reproduced answering message to the telephone line.

  • Patent number: 4396957
Abstract: A tape control system for use in an automatic program locating system for tapeplayers. The tape control system is responsive to blank or unrecorded spaces between recorded programs and includes a presettable shift register having a succession of bit stages for indicating one or more desired programs to be located and reproduced. The contents of the bit stages are shifted to the next successive bit stage upon every occurrence of a space detection signal generated in response to each sensed unrecorded space on the tape. The outputted content of the last bit stage in the succession is provided to an output-content detection circuit which controls tape speed shifting circuits to shift the tape speed into a normal playback speed or into a fast movement speed in response whether the output of the last bit stage indicates that a selected program is to be read next by the heads of the tapeplayer.
