  • Patent number: 5543310
Abstract: A process for preparing glucose-1-phosphate from an .alpha.-glucan and orthophosphate using a phosphorylase immobilized onto an anion-exchange resin is disclosed. The anion-exchange resin used is a synthetic polymer resin into which an anion exchange group; a primary to quarternary ammonium group, a phosphonium group, or a sulfonium group, is introduced. This type of immobilized phosphorylase ensures (i) an effective utilization of phosphorylase, (ii) a higher reactivity of a higher absorbance of the phosphorylase to the resin, (iii) an excellent phosphorylase activity retention performance, and (iv) a higher physical strength of the resin.

  • Patent number: 5032515
Abstract: Fat or oil is hydrolyzed with water and lipase effectively by supplying the fat or oil and water continuously each at a constant rate or semicontinuously in portions and simultaneously withdrawing a solution containing fatty acid(s) and an aqueous solution containing glycerol formed by the enzymatic reaction from the reaction system continuously at the same rates as those of the supplied fat or oil and water respectively or semicontinuously in portions to thereby maintain the glycerol concentration in the aqueous phase of the reaction system constant within a range of 10 to 40% by weight.

  • Patent number: 4885112
Abstract: A surface active agent comprising a specific type of secondary amidoamino acid or ammonium ion or triethanolammonium salt thereof, ##STR1## as a major component, and not more than 0.2 mole of an inorganic salt per 100 gm of said secondary amidoamino acid or 100 gm of a salt thereof as converted to the acid type secondary amidoamino acid. The surface active agent can be prepared by subjecting the alkali metal salt of secondary amidoamino acid, usually containing a great amount of impurities such as sodium chloride, to electrodialysis. It has excellent compatibility with various additives such as water-soluble polymer due to its low ionic strength and yet exhibits a good low-temperature stability when made into an aqueous solution owing to its low Krafft point.

  • Patent number: 4846947
Abstract: A novel process for preparing an alkanolammonium salt or ammonium salt of an amino acid surface active agent or an acylated amino acid surface active agent. In the process, an alkali metal salt of an amino acid surface active agent or acylated amino acid surface active agent is subjected to electrodialysis in the presence of a mineral acid salt of an alkanolamine or ammonia, or a mixture of an alkanolamine or ammonia and a mineral acid.By-products which are produced during the preparation of the above surface active agents can be mostly removed to outside during the electrodialysis and are thus purified conveniently.

  • Patent number: 4787940
Abstract: A novel method for purifying a sugar phosphate or its salt, in which a sugar-containing mixture of a sugar phosphate or its salt and phosphoric acid or its salt is subjected to electrodialysis to remove the phosphoric acid or its salt from the mixture.According to this method, the phosphoric acid or its salt can be readily obtained in a reusable form. The method is thus quite advantageous in view of the economy.
