Patent number: 6155950Abstract: An inner roller 30 (in FIG. 2) for use in an internal-meshing planetary gear construction has its inner-peripheral wall 32 formed into a shape which is brought closer to a regular polygon of n sides (where n denotes an integer of at least 3, and n=3 holds in the illustrated example). Lubricating oil is reserved in clearances H1 defined near the vertices of the regular triangle, and an inner pin 7 is retained in light touch with the three middle points P1-P3 of the respective sides of the regular triangle. Thus, the reservation of the lubricating oil and the retention of the inner pin 7 free from backlash are made consistent, thereby to relieve the backlash of the planetary gear construction and to enhance the durability thereof.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1999Date of Patent: December 5, 2000Assignee: Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Kiyoji Minegishi, Masanori Egawa, Hiroki Yamazaki

Methods of fabricating inner roller and outer roller in internal-meshing planetary gear construction
Patent number: 5867902Abstract: In fabricating an inner roller for use in an internal-meshing planetary gear construction, the outer periphery of an inner-roller blank 30c is chucked in the state in which depressive forces are equally exerted on the outer periphery in all the directions thereof by a chucking jig 50A, and the inner-peripheral wall of the blank 30c is subjected to a burnishing work in this state. The resulting inner-roller blank 30c is heat-treated in the state in which the depressive chucking is released, whereupon the outer periphery of the blank 30c is finished by grinding. It is accordingly possible to fabricate at low cost the inner roller which can suppress angular backlash owing to a smaller clearance defined between it and a mating inner pin, and which exhibits a high durability and favorable slip characteristics.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1997Date of Patent: February 9, 1999Assignee: Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd.Inventors: Kiyoji Minegishi, Masanori Egawa, Hiroki Yamazaki -
Patent number: 5433672Abstract: In an inscribed meshing planetary gear construction provided with a carrier pin (a carrier member) 116, rigidity and stability are improved and its entire length is shortened, resulting in that in particular, the connection between an input shaft 101 and an eccentric body 103 can be improved so as to reduce the number of component parts and the number of assembling steps. In order to realize this object, a flange part 114 of an output shaft 102, a carrier pin 116 and a support ring 117 are supported at both ends by a pair of bearings 115a and 115b, and then a reduction gear mechanism is disposed between bearings 115a and 115b. The input shaft 101 is formed with a D-cut part of cross section by cutting a part of its outer circumference in parallel with its axial direction. This cut part is utilized so as to set a circumferential position (a stop of rotation) between the input shaft 101 and an eccentric body 103.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1992Date of Patent: July 18, 1995Assignee: Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Hideyoshi Tanaka, Atsushi Takahashi, Toshiyuki Konishi, Atsushi Ishigaki, Kiyoji Minegishi, Masayuki Tanigawa, Masanori Egawa

Patent number: 5310350Abstract: In a connector having a group of contacts arrayed at narrow pitches on a base member, a contact fixture device is formed separately from the base member forming a connector body. The contact fixture device is provided with retaining claws adapted to secure the fixture device to the base member. The contact fixture device is further provided with a presser portion disposed across a group of seat elements of the group of contacts. The presser portion is laid across the group of seat elements to urge the group of seat elements against a surface of the base member when the fixture device is secured to the base member with the retaining claws. In this manner, the group of contacts can be arrayed on the base member.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1993Date of Patent: May 10, 1994Assignee: Yamaichi Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Noriyuki Matsuoka, Masanori Egawa

Patent number: 5239881Abstract: In a variable speed geared motor constructed by combining an inverter motor controllable in rotational speed by inverter drive with a gear reducer, the gear reducer is of a two-stage type, and a reduction ratio i of the gear reducer is suppressed so that i.ltoreq.N holds where N stands for a maximum reduction ratio of the inverter motor at which a constant torque characteristic can be ensured. Further, in a series of variable speed geared motors each satisfying the above conditions, a common ratio R of a series of reduction ratios i of the variable speed geared motors is set to 1.2-1.5. For example, the series is set to 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8.Accordingly, the geared motor can be constructed lightly in weight, compactly, and at low costs, and it can be economically used in a rotational speed region of 200-900 rpm which is an ordinary region in driving of a pump or a high-speed conveyor.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1992Date of Patent: August 31, 1993Assignee: Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Yoshikazu Chiba, Masayuki Tanigawa, Masanori Egawa, Kiyoji Minegishi

Patent number: 5116291Abstract: A rotary driving apparatus including internally-meshing planetary reduction gear to which the output rotation of a motor is inputted, a drive shaft to which the output rotation of the planetary reduction gear is transmitted, an output rotary shaft to which the rotation of the drive shaft is transmitted, and a rotary flange provided on the output rotary shaft with a wheel mounted on the flange. The speed of the output rotation of the motor is reduced and then transmitted to the wheel so as to cause a vehicle to run on the wheel.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1991Date of Patent: May 26, 1992Assignee: Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Shigeru Toyosumi, Masayuki Tanigawa, Masanori Egawa, Kiyoji Minegishi

Patent number: 4951792Abstract: A clutch mechanism in a gear transmission. A first gear is fixed to one of input and output shaft disposed in parallel with each other, while a second gear engaging with the first gear is fitted on the other. The second gear is rotatable and axially slidable relative to the other shaft, and two groups of splines are formed in the fitting surfaces of the second gear and the other shaft and are capable of engaging with and disengaging from each other in response to the axial sliding of the second gear. With this mechanism, the transmission of rotation of the input shaft to the output shaft is established and interrupted by axially moving the second gear. Also disclosed is another clutch mechanism in a gear transmission. A second gear is loosely fitted on the other shaft, while a third gear is fitted on the other shaft in such a manner as to be prevented from rotating relative to the other shaft but be axially slidable relative thereto.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1989Date of Patent: August 28, 1990Assignee: Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.Inventor: Masanori Egawa
