  • Patent number: 7610826
Abstract: A parallel axes type transmission including a first idle drive route and a second idle drive route for transmitting the relation of an input shaft to an intermediate shaft. The first idle drive route includes a one-way clutch capable of transmitting the rotation of the input shaft to the intermediate shaft only. The second idle drive route includes wet multiplate clutches for connecting gears rotatably mounted on the intermediate shaft to the intermediate shaft when engaged. Thus, the intermediate shaft is rotated at a first rotational speed through the first idle drive route and at a second rotational speed faster than the first rotational speed through the second idle drive route when the clutch is engaged.

  • Patent number: 6834495
Abstract: This invention provides a multi-fan system separated core engine type turbofan engine in which high pressure air is used as the working fluid for a turbine which drives a fan, thereby reducing the manufacturing costs of the turbofan engine and simplifying the constitution thereof. A turbine for driving a fan 11 which is provided in a propulsion device 3 of the multi-fan system separated core engine type turbofan engine 1 is an air turbine 13 which is driven by the supply through a duct 9 of a part of high pressure air compressed in a compressor 5 of a core engine 2. Since the working fluid of the air turbine 13 for driving the fan 11 is not high temperature combustion gas, there is no need to use expensive heat-resistant material for the turbine, and thus the propulsion device 3 can be manufactured at low cost, the constitution thereof can be simplified, and operational control can be ameliorated.

  • Patent number: 6792746
Abstract: A low-noise separated core engine type turbofan engine is provided in which noise generated by a control propulsion device is reduced by using high pressure air as the working fluid of a turbine for driving a control fan used in the attitude control of the airframe. A control fan 17 of a separated core engine type turbofan engine 1, which is comprised in a control propulsion device 4 provided for attitude control of the aircraft, is driven by an air turbine 19 which uses as working fluid high pressure air compressed by a compressor 6 of the core engine 2 and supplied through a duct 10. The speed of the working fluid which is discharged from the control fan 17 and air turbine 19 is sufficiently low for attitude control and not as high as the speed of the working fluid which is discharged from a propulsion device 3 which is provided for thrust, and thus noise generated by the control propulsion device 4 can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5277729
Abstract: One method of manufacturing a polarizable electrode for an electric double-layer capacitor includes, in order, the steps of: preforming a kneaded substance of fine carbon powder, a polymer resin containing fluorine, and a liquid lubricant into a sheet-type preform; adjusting the content of the liquid lubricant in the sheet-type preform to 10 to 47 percent by weight; shaping the preform into a prescribed thickness, optionally but advantageously with heated rolls; and then substantially removing the liquid lubricant from the preform. In another disclosed method, first the liquid lubricant is substantially removed, and then the sheet-type preform is rolled with rollers that are heated to substantially 90.degree.-120.degree. C. In either of the above methods, the rollers are controlled to have a circumferential speed of 0.7-5 m/min and the rollers shape the preform into a sheet substantially 0.04 to 0.5 mm in thickness for serving as a polarizable electrode.

  • Patent number: 5168433
Abstract: The present invention relates to capacitors utilizing an electric double layer formed in the interface of polarizable electrodes and an electrolyte. By using as the primary material of the polarizable electrodes an activated carbon in which the difference in titration value between the cases where sodium carbonate is used for neutralization titration of the activated carbon and where sodium hydrogencarbonate is used therefor is 0.195 meq/g or more to the weight of the activated carbon, the quantity of presence of the acidic functional group II (carboxyl group present as lactone) on the surface of the activated carbon is increased and, as a result, the affinity between the polarizable electrodes and the electrolyte is enhanced, thus providing electric double-layer capacitors low in variation with time and yet large in capacity.
