  • Patent number: 5247692
Abstract: A multiple file system having multiple identical file units each holding the same data files identified by a chronological revision number. Each file unit, in addition to magnetic data storage, contains input receiver and output driver stages which can be inhibited by a prohibition signal generated by a latch relay circuit in a corresponding file unit to keep the other file unit inactive when a failure occurs in the other file unit. Upon return of the other file to normalcy, the corresponding file is reset to discontinue the prohibition signal and the revision numbers of corresponding files in each file unit are compared to replace the file contents having the older revision number with the file contents having the newer revision number.

  • Patent number: 5185748
Abstract: A dual data check apparatus is included in a system which includes at least one pair of electronic disk units which store identical data and an electronic disk controller connected to the two electronic disk units through an interface which can realize daisy-chain connections. One of the pair of electronic disk units includes an output unit for supplying to the interface data corresponding to a read command sent from the electronic disk controller. The other of the pair of electronic disk units includes a unit for fetching the data supplied from the output unit to the interface, comparing the fetched data with data read out in the other electronic disk unit in response to the read command, and signaling an error event to the electronic disk controller when a comparison result represents a noncoincidence.

  • Patent number: 3975307
Abstract: A PTC thermistor composition comprising BaTiO.sub.3, TiO.sub.2, one oxide selected from the group consisting of Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5 and Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, SiO.sub.2, Li.sub.2 CO.sub.3, MnO.sub.2 and one oxide selected from the group consisting of Sb.sub.2 O.sub.3 and Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3, and process for the production thereof are provided. Said process is characterized by the addition of TiO.sub.2 and Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5 to BaTiO.sub.3 before calcination and the addition of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, SiO.sub.2, Li.sub.2 CO.sub.3, MnO.sub.2 and Sb.sub.2 O.sub.3 after the calcination. This PTC thermistor composition has a high breakdown voltage, a large electric current at the initial moment of a voltage application which current decreases rapidly with continuing voltage application, low specific resistivity and, good stability of resistivity.

  • Patent number: 3962146
Abstract: A PTC thermistor composition containing barium oxide and titanium oxide as a base material, a semiconducting element to make the base material semiconductive and hafnium dioxide, and if necessary, an additive element. Due to the use of hafnium dioxide, the thermistor composition contributes to a large positive temperature coefficient of resistance. This invention also provides a novel method of making the thermistor composition, in which the addition of hafnium is carried out at the step of milling which comes after the step of calcining. By this method, hafnium can be very effectively used.
