  • Patent number: 6400719
Abstract: A telephone communication method capable of promoting the efficient use of the limited number of IP (Internet Protocol) addresses is disclosed. When a call is originated on a first telephone terminal, a first gateway accommodating the terminal accesses a DNS (Domain Name System) server via a UDP (User Datagram Protocol) channel of Internet or Intranet. The first gateway inquires the DNS server of the IP address of a second gateway accommodating a telephone terminal to be called, using an office number assigned to the second telephone terminal as a host name. The DNS server returns the IP address of the second gateway to the first gateway via the UDP channel. In response, the first gateway selects its own IP address for speech transfer and sends a call connection request to the second gateway on a TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) channel of Internet.

  • Patent number: 6309557
Abstract: An object is to provide a magnetic garnet material, even if a thickness of an element is made thin, in which a sufficient Faraday rotation capacity can be obtained, a magnetic field for saturation can be controlled to be less than 200 (Oe), and a magnetic compensation temperature can be controlled to be less than 0° C. as well as to provide a Faraday rotator which can be made thin, suppresses a manufacturing cost and achieves a high yielding. The above object can be achieved by a magnetic garnet material known as the general chemical formula BixYbyGdzM13-x-y-zFewM2uM35-w-uO12 and the Faraday rotator using the above material. However, M1 is more than one kind of chemical elements which can replace Bi, Yb or Gd, M2 is more than one kind of non-magnetic chemical elements which can replace Fe, and M3 is more than one kind of chemical elements which can replace Fe and M2. Further, x, y, z, w and u respectively satisfies 1.0≦x≦1.6, 0.3≦y≦0.7, 0.9≦z≦1.6, 4.0≦w≦4.3 and 0.7≦u≦1.0.

  • Patent number: 6284463
Abstract: A method and a kit for detecting a mutation from a non-mutated sequence of a target polynucleotide in a sample, by using a mismatch binding protein. The method comprises: a) providing non-mutated and mutated target polynucleotide; b) forming duplex of the non-mutated and mutated single strands of the target polynucleotide in a); c) adding a single strand binding protein to the polynucleotide from b); d) incubating the mismatch binding protein with an activating agent; e) adding the incubated mismatch binding protein from d) to the polynucleotide from c), whereby the mismatch binding protein binds to the duplex formed by one non-mutated and one mutated single strand of the target polynucleotide; f) detecting the presence of any mismatch binding protein bound to the target polynucleotide.

  • Patent number: 6179289
Abstract: Paper-feed control of an image-forming apparatus, in which the control unit has a paper-feed-motor-drive-controller for controlling a paper-feed-motor. The paper-feed-motor rotating a resist roller and a paper ejection-roller for feeding printing paper. The paper-feed-motor is controlled to perform a plurality of paper-feeds of predetermined width on a sheet of printing paper. An image is formed on the sheet of printing paper after respective paper-feed. The paper-feed-motor is controlled by the paper-feed-motor-controller to perform the paper-feed such that the end of the printing paper remains in contact with the resist roller from which the end of the paper leaves after the final paper-feed.
