  • Patent number: 8903539
Abstract: An apparatus includes a network interface, a processor and a computer readable storage medium. The processor is coupled with the computer readable storage medium. The computer readable storage medium has computer readable program code embodied therewith. The computer readable program code, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to determine the state of a storage medium library and determine distribution for a plurality of distributable components within the storage medium library based, at least in part, on the state of the storage medium library. The computer readable program code also causes the processor to, responsive to a determination of the distribution for the plurality of distributable components within the storage medium library, issue commands distributing the plurality of distributable components within the storage medium library in accordance with the distribution.

  • Publication number: 20140030049
Abstract: A library manager to determine a relay-point library string when a particular cartridge (specific cartridge) is moved to an empty drive (target drive) for mounting. A method for determining a relay-point library string includes: receiving a command to mount a cartridge in a library string located on one side of the relay-point library string; searching for the target drive among library strings, and finding the target drive in a library string on the other side of an interposed relay-point library string relative to the library string in which the specific cartridge is located; selecting a relay-point library string based on predetermined conditions to move the specific cartridge using shuttle connections to the found target drive; and searching to determine whether or there is a newly available drive in a relay-point library string other than the selected relay-point library string before the selected cartridge reaches the selected relay-point library string.

  • Publication number: 20120290801
Abstract: First characteristic information indicating a characteristic of input data is extracted from the input data that is input as data to be stored in any of the storages. Second characteristic information elements are read from a memory unit storing the second characteristic information elements indicating respective characteristics of stored data elements stored in the storages. A specific storage in which the input data is to be stored is determined, out of the storages, by determining a degree of match between the extracted first characteristic information and the second characteristic information elements read. The input data to the determined specific storage is read. The second characteristic information element indicating the characteristic of the stored data element stored in the specific storage is updated, out of the second characteristic information elements retained in the memory unit, on the basis of the extracted first characteristic information.

  • Publication number: 20090287751
Abstract: A method and system for file relocation is provided. A file relocation system is connected to multiple storage devices. The system obtains a number of times that each of a number of files stored on the multiple storage devices is requested simultaneously with a concerned file. The relocation system then classifies multiple files into multiple groups, such that groups of files simultaneously are put together into one group. Multiple files classified in to the same group are then relocated to a single storage device. The relocation system then switches a storage device not accessed for a certain period of time into a power-saving mode.

  • Patent number: 6054830
Abstract: A method and system for controlling pulse-driven actuators on multidimensional coordinates includes a cutting tool connected to the actuators of a machine tool. The cutting tool is controlled with a specified path and a specified velocity by controlling the output pulses of a multiplier. Data on the coordinates of a plurality of points including points A and B on the specified path and on the specified velocity F is received along with a command indicating an interpolation type. A linear interpolation is performed by a straight line between the point A and the point B, and the interpolated straight line is divided into minute lengths .DELTA.L and a minute length .DELTA.La correspondingly to a minute time .DELTA.T. .DELTA.T is changed by sending either a first control signal for keeping the specified velocity F corresponding to the minute length .DELTA.L or a second control signal for keeping the specified velocity F corresponding to the minute length .DELTA.

  • Patent number: 5319448
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for correcting a color reproduction distortion for each of all the hues are provided. A predetermined demodulating axis of three demodulating axes SR, SG and SB for the three primary colors R, G and B, herein, the R-Y demodulating axis SR is formed by combining the two demodulating axes SR2 and SR3. The demodulating axis SR2 provides a different demodulating gain from the standard demodulating axis. The demodulating axis SR3 provides a different demodulating angle from the standard demodulating axis in addition to the different demodulating gain. Then, a smaller one of the signals demodulated by the demodulating axes SR2 and SR3 is selected. It means that the signal changing along the vector orbit E1 indicated by oblique lines is made to be a color difference signal R-Y.

  • Patent number: 5181116
Abstract: In a television receiver in which scanning for an incoming video signal is performed at a frequency n times as high as the input horizontal synchronous frequency by suitably controlling writing and reading on its video memory, the signals for writing and reading on the video memory unit are generated by a horizontal synchronization/deflection circuit. The horizontal synchronization/deflection circuit is arranged by having a clock generation/synchronous deflection circuit for generating reference signals to control the writing and reading on the video memory unit provided with a phase comparator such that a horizontal drive signal to drive a horizontal deflection circuit and a flyback pulse are brought in phase.

  • Patent number: 4782246
Abstract: A phase shift circuit comprises a variable phase shifter responsive to an externally supplied voltage to change the amount of phase shift, and a phase detector operative to detect a phase difference between input and output signals of the variable phase shifter and supply a voltage complying with the phase difference to the variable phase shifter. When the center frequency of the variable phase shifter is changed by reason of production errors and temperature variations to deviate the phase shift amount from a desired value, the phase detector controls the center frequency such that the phase shift amount can be fixed to the desirably predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4748422
Abstract: An amplifier suitable for use as an active filter such as a low-pass filter, a high-pass filter or a phase shifter, which can be easily formed as part of an integrated circuit. The amplifier includes first and second transistors, which together form a first differential amplifier for converting the voltage of the input signal thereto to a signal current. It also includes third and fourth transistors, which together form a second differential amplifier for dividing the signal current from the second transistor in a given ratio. A capacitor is connected to the collector of the fourth transistor, and first and second resistors are connected, respectively, to emitters of the first and second transistors. The current division ratio of the current flowing through the third and fourth transistors is controlled by a control voltage DC supplied to the base of the third transistor and the base of the fourth transistor.
