  • Publication number: 20040049383
Abstract: An apparatus for noise suppression has a converter for converting an input signal into a frequency-domain, an SNR calculator for determining a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) using the frequency-domain signal, a spectral gain generator for determining a spectral gain based on the SNR, a spectral gain modification unit for correcting the spectral gain to determine a modified spectral gain, a multiplier for weighting the frequency-domain signal using the modified spectral gain, and an inverse converter for converting the weighted frequency-domain signal into a signal in a time-domain signal. In the apparatus for noise suppression, it is preferable to calculate a weighted noisy speech power spectrum from the power spectrum of noisy speech and the power spectrum of estimated noise thereby determining an SNR.

  • Publication number: 20040013094
Abstract: In a mobile communication terminal for performing wireless communication by receiving wireless signals according to CDMA communication system containing pilot signals by an antenna array containing a plurality of antenna elements (1-1 to 1-N), despreading processing is performed on received signals x1 to XN at each of the antenna array elements (1-1 to 1-N) according to a predetermined despreading code. An array response vector composed of pilot signals which are extracted by an array response vector detecting section for each of the antenna elements (1-1 to 1-N) represents the arriving direction of wireless signals. In order to form a directivity pattern of the antenna array containing antenna elements (1-1 to 1-N), a weighting operation is performed according to the array response vector. By doing this, it is possible to control the antenna array directivity pattern stably for performing wireless communication by receiving wireless signals according to a CDMA communication system.

  • Patent number: 5692052
Abstract: An engine rotating speed sensor detects intake sound information due to the drive of an engine. A controller generates a signal having a frequency corresponding to a desired ratio of orders based on the detected intake sound information. Further, a phase and an amplitude the signal are controlled, and so a speaker arranged in a propagation path of the intake sound of the engine generates control sound to control the intake sound due to the drive of the engine. An engine noise control apparatus which is capable of effectively reducing or waveform-reshaping a wide range of engine noise. The apparatus has an engine rotating speed sensor for detecting an engine rotating speed and a waveform generator circuit for converting a rotation pulse signal to a periodic signal having a frequency which is a predetermined multiple of the detected engine rotating speed.

  • Patent number: 5601100
Abstract: To obtain a washing machine capable of sanitarily effecting washing with fresh water at all times and reducing a washing time and a drying time. Tap water supplied from a water feed pipe in association with sensing means is pressurized to predetermined pressure by a pressurizing pump, supplied to water injection nozzle pipes and injected into a washing space through water injection nozzles. The user inserts tableware held by hands between the nozzles, energising the sensor mechanism. A high speed water flow injected from the nozzles collides against the tableware and washes the tableware by removing stubborn dirt from the tableware. On the other hand, an air flow from a blower passes though the air nozzle pipes and is discharged from the air nozzles to remove the drops of water attached to the tableware by forced air action.

  • Patent number: 5446790
Abstract: A device for cancelling annoying sounds caused by operation of an internal combustion engine. An intake sound of the engine, and also a rotational speed of the engine, are obtained. The phase difference between the present intake sound and a desired intake sound is obtained using map data. The map data depends on the rotational speed of the engine and is specifically calculated so that at least the (n+0.5) harmonics (n integer.gtoreq.0) are cancelled. The phase data is used to drive a ceramic speaker or two oppositely directed ceramic speakers, to appropriately compensate the input sound.

  • Patent number: 5153682
Abstract: A high-mobility semiconductor device having GaAs/AlGaAs hetero junction of the present invention comprises a GaAs active layer and a GaAs contact layer, with a high-carrier concentration AlGaAs barrier layer interposed therebetween, so that the effective carrier concentration of the active layer can be increased and thus the thickness thereof can be reduced, resulting in an increase in the trans-conductance and improvement in the high frequency characteristics. Since the presence of the AlGaAs barrier layer enables selecting etching, such element characteristics as the plane uniformity and reproducibility can be improved.
