  • Patent number: 4982305
Abstract: In a recording apparatus having a digital signal input which can record such digital signal on a recording medium, when a condition of the input signal changes during the recording operation the recording apparatus is automatically set into a recording pause mode and such operating mode is indicated to the operator. When the condition of the input signal is stabilized within a predetermined period of time during such recording pause mode, the recording medium is automatically rewound and the recording apparatus is then released from the recording pause mode and recording commences at a location on the record medium so as to record over any previously recorded unstable signal.

  • Patent number: 4445651
Abstract: An improved tape cassette which can be automatically loaded into a tape recording and playback machine by moving it in a horizontal plane and in which the cassette includes pinch rollers and a pair of face gears with radially extending teeth for engagement with movable mating face gears with radially extending teeth to drive the take-up reels and wherein capstan engaging concave portions are formed in alignment with the pinch rollers in the surface of the cassette and with a plurality of head inserting openings formed in a front face of the cassette. Capstans are receivable in the capstan engaging openings so that the pinch rollers will press the tape against the capstan for driving it and the various heads are engageable with the tape through the openings formed in the front surface of the cassette.
