  • Patent number: 10996609
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a fixing unit, a position adjustment mechanism, a number-of-printed-sheets counter, and a control unit. The image forming portion includes an image carrier, a charging unit, an exposure unit, a developing unit, and a transfer member. The fixing unit has a heated rotary member and a pressing member and heats and presses the sheet passing through a fixing nip portion. A position adjustment mechanism adjusts the width-direction position of the sheet parallel to the scanning direction of optical scanning by the exposure unit. Every time the number of printed sheets reaches a predetermined number, the control unit makes the correction unit shift the width-direction position of the sheet by a predetermined amount and changes the start position of scanning by the exposure unit on the image carrier according to the direction and amount of shift.

  • Patent number: 10139748
Abstract: In a laser scanning device, a first light shielding portion and a second light shielding portion respectively shield a first light shielding region and a second light shielding region from a light beam. The first light shielding region is a part of a first region which is on one side of a target intermediate region and the second light shielding region is a part of a second region which is on the other side of the target intermediate region. The target intermediate region is a belt-like intermediate region of a light receiving surface of a light sensor. Widths of the first and second light shielding regions in the main scanning direction gradually expand from first and second base end portions to first and second side edges which are opposite ends of the light receiving surface in the sub scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 9971274
Abstract: An optical scanning device includes a rotary polygon mirror, a plurality of light sources, a light detecting portion, an obtainment processing portion, an a switching processing portion. The rotary polygon mirror has a reflection surface that reflects incident light, and scans, in a scanning cycle, the light reflected on the reflection surface. The light sources emit, toward the reflection surface, a plurality of light beams. The light detecting portion detects a light amount of each light beam reflected on the reflection surface. The obtainment processing portion obtains a switching timing to switch a light emission amount of each of the light sources in the scanning cycle, based on light amounts of the light beams detected by the light detecting portion. The switching processing portion switches the light emission amount of each of the light sources based on the switching timing obtained by the obtainment processing portion.
