  • Patent number: 8267588
Abstract: Disclosed is a fluid lubrication bearing device in which generation of a contaminant in a resin housing is suppressed, maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the interior and in the periphery of the bearing device. A side portion 7a and a bottom portion 7b of a housing 7 are formed integrally by injection molding of a resin material, and a gate mark 12 of a gate resin portion 11 formed at a lower end surface 7d of the bottom portion 7b of the molding is formed by a jig 13 having a forming surface 13a with a concave configuration. As a result, the cut portion 12a of the gate mark with sharp asperities is smoothened, and the surface 12d of the gate mark 12 is turned into a smooth convex curved surface.

  • Publication number: 20090297282
Abstract: A rotary cutting tool is proposed which can be used both for rough cutting and finish cutting in a stable manner, and which has a mechanism for individually adjusting the axial positions of the cutting edges of a plurality of throwaway inserts which is simple in structure. The inserts 2 are received in a plurality of insert-mounting grooves 5 formed in the outer periphery of the tool body 1 at its front end and fixed to the tool body by clamp means 3. An adjusting screw 4 for axially positioning each insert is axially threaded into the tool body near each groove. Each groove 5 includes three seating faces for positioning and restraining the insert 2 in three directions. Each insert 2 can be axially positioned by either of one of the seating faces 5c for axially positioning the insert 2 or the top of the head of one of the adjusting screws.

  • Patent number: 6789983
Abstract: A clamping mechanism that prevents the shift and scattering of the cutting inserts due to centrifugal force and that prevents the generation of unwanted distortion and strain in the rotary tool body. The rotary cutting tool of the present invention has a plurality of cutting inserts 22 along the periphery of a cylindrical tool body 21. The cutting inserts 22 are securely attached to cartridges 23 by using attaching screws 24. The cartridges 23 are then attached to the tool body. Each of the cutting inserts is clamped such that a set screw 26 screwed into the corresponding slanted threaded hole 28 formed in the tool body 21 presses the cutting insert 22 at its surface portion located on the other side of the attaching screw 24 with respect to the cutting edge of the cutting insert 22.

  • Patent number: 6176648
Abstract: A face milling cutter which is capable of holding an insert with high positional accuracy and which can be manufactured with low cost is provided. The face milling cutter includes: a cutter body having a rotational axis and a plurality of grooves formed in a side surface of the cutter body; and a plurality of insert holders detachably fixed in the grooves. Each groove has a first side wall extending from the side surface toward the rotational axis and a second side wall opposite to the first side wall and extending from the side surface toward the rotational axis. The first side wall has a first protrusion and a first recess formed in a region closer to the rotational axis than the first protrusion. The second side wall has the second protrusion and the second recess formed in a region closer to the rotational axis than the second protrusion. The insert holder is fixed in the groove so as to be in contact with the first and the second recesses.

  • Patent number: 5707185
Abstract: An indexable insert for milling includes a metal base made of cemented carbide, and a cutting edge consisting of a sintered CBN compact and a flat drag type cutting edge which are brazed to the metal base or bonded thereto by integral sintering. A subcutting edge angle (.beta.), a negative land angle (.theta.) and a negative land width (L) are set at 30.degree. to 60.degree., 30.degree. to 45.degree. and 0.05 to 0.40 mm respectively, while the subcutting edge has a straight shape. Due to this structure, the indexable insert has excellent cutting performance particularly in face milling of parts which are made of gray cast iron, and the tool life can be extended.

  • Patent number: 5625949
Abstract: A method of securing to an operating lever in the form of an elongated metal plate an operating button made of thermoplastic resin and including a mounting tongue of a generally tubular configuration having a hollow defined therein. An anchor perforation and a stopper pawl are first formed in the operating lever and the operating button is then temporarily mounted on the operating lever with the operating lever slid into the hollow of the mounting tongue until an abutment defined in the mounting tongue and positioned within the hollow is brought into engagement with the stopper pawl.
