  • Patent number: 7199703
Abstract: A simple and inexpensive seatbelt use indicating apparatus that allows easy recognition of the states of use/non-use of the seatbelt is provided. The apparatus includes a design figure that implies whether the seatbelt is used or not, and a lamp portion that indicates the use or the non-use of the seatbelt of each seat location via the color of light. The lamp portion causes two-color LEDs to glow corresponding to indications of the seat locations in accordance with the on/off states of buckle switches provided in seatbelt devices. Whether a seatbelt is used or not is indicated by changing the color of light of a corresponding LED, that is, changing the fashion of indication. The glow of LEDs is changed between red and green. Red glow of an LED indicates that a corresponding seatbelt is used, and green glow of the LED indicates that the corresponding seatbelt is not used.

  • Patent number: 6003939
Abstract: In a seat structure having a side air bag device, a longitudinal groove (36) is formed in a seat back pad (14) along the longitudinal direction of the seat back pad, and an insert wire (40) which holds a seat outer cover, is embedded in the longitudinal groove (36). Bent portions (44) are formed in portions of the insert wire (40), which portions oppose the air bag device. Each of the bent portions (44) is bent in a substantially U-shaped configuration, and a slab pad (46) is wound around an outer peripheral portion of a base portion (44A) of each bent portion. Further, the bent portions (44) of the insert wire (40) are each provided to extend rearwardly and diagonally toward the inner side of a seat back (10) so that the embedded length of the insert wire (40) embedded in the seat back pad (14) is made longer, and adverse influences on riding comfort are thereby suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5938265
Abstract: A vehicle seat structure comprises: a connecting member which connects an outer side reclining apparatus in a widthwise direction of a vehicle and an inner side reclining apparatus in the widthwise direction of the vehicle to be interlocked with one another; a reinforcing member which is tubular and is provided adjacent to the connecting member, one end portion of the reinforcing member being fixed to a structural member of the outer side reclining apparatus and another end portion of the reinforcing member being fixed to a structural member of the inner side reclining apparatus; and deformation direction control apparatus for deforming the reinforcing member in a direction other than a direction in which a seating space of a vehicle occupant becomes narrower, when a side collision load is larger than a buckling load of the reinforcing member.

  • Patent number: 5826938
Abstract: A vehicle seat is equipped with a side air bag assembly, the air bag of which is assembled within a side cavity formed in one side of a back rest of the vehicle seat in a folded condition. A rear attachment board is mounted on a support frame of the back rest, and has a back portion formed to cover the rear face of the back rest and a side portion formed to cover the air bag in the side cavity. The side portion of the rear attachment board is formed as a door portion to be opened outwardly when applied with a thrusting force caused by inflation of the air bag.
