  • Publication number: 20020010253
Abstract: The present invention is intended to provide aqueous resin compositions excellent in low temperature film-forming property and stability, without intentionally adding any volatile organic compound. They are double-layered aqueous resin compositions formed by copolymerising in water emulsifiable polymeric polyurethane resin and polymeric vinyl monomer, which are excellent in low temperature film-forming property and stability due to the action of the grafted polyurethane resin component in the outer layer and with hydroxyls introduced into at least either one of the polyurethane resin component and the vinyl polymer component.

  • Publication number: 20010025081
Abstract: The present invention relates to an emulsion resin and a production method for same, which has the respective characteristic features of urethane, silicone, and acryl, and is usable as a binder for water-based coating and excellent in weather resistance, contamination resistance, toughness, and flexibility. Emulsifiable polymerizable polyurethane vinyl compound is synthesized by allowing glycol constituents having two hydroxy groups and at least one hydrophilic group contained in one molecule and polymerizable vinyl monomers having the functional group which can react with isocyanate to react with isocyanate compounds. The emulsion resin is produced by mixing beforehand this polymerizable polyurethane vinyl compound with the polymerizable vinyl monomer and reactive silane compound which may be added as needed under the condition of non-aqueous system, and then by polymerizing them in water.
