  • Patent number: 5275370
Abstract: A first rail unit is mounted on a higher mounting portion of a vehicle floor, and a second rail unit is mounted on a lower mounting portion. Each rail unit is equipped with a lock mechanism by which a movable upper rail is locked to a stationary lower rail. A generally U-shaped control lever is employed for releasing locked condition of the lock mechanisms of the two rail units. One end of the control lever is directly connected to the lock mechanism of the first rail unit and the other end of the control lever is connected through a link mechanism to the lock mechanism of the second rail unit. Thus, the first and second rail units can be intimately or stably mounted to the higher and lower mounting portions respectively.

  • Patent number: 5273242
Abstract: A powered seat slide device including at least one pair of guide rails for slidably supporting a seat such that the position of the seat relative to a floor is adjusted frontwardly and rearwardly, comprises a drive motor causing a relative sliding movement of one of the guide rails to the other, through a driving mechanism employing a gear box fixed to the one of the rails to serve as a reduction gear transmitting rotation torque from the motor to a screw-threaded shaft which is fixed onto the one of rails and engaged with a nut member rigidly mounted on the other rail for rotation relative to the screw-threaded shaft, while reducing a motor speed and increasing torque created by the motor, a motor mounting bracket formed integral with the gear box, for directly connecting the motor to the gear box, and an opening provided in the side wall of the one of rails, for avoiding the interference between the motor assembly and the guide rails.

  • Patent number: 4957267
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a seat slide device which comprises a lower rail including a channel portion with first and second side walls; an upper rail longitudinally slidably disposed on the lower rail, the upper rail having a major flat wall portion which faces the channel portion when the upper rail is properly disposed on the lower rail; and first and second lugs projected from the major flat wall portion of the upper rail into the channel portion of the lower rail. The first and second lugs are located in the vicinity of inner surfaces of the first and second side walls of the lower rail, respectively, so that undesired lateral play of the upper rail relative to the lower rail is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 4949932
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a seat slide device which comprises two slider units which are substantially the same in construction and arranged in parallel with each other, each slider unit including a lower rail adapted to be fixed to a floor member and an upper rail longitudinally slidably disposed on the lower rail and mounting thereon a seat; two lock mechanisms respectively mounted to the two slider units for locking the upper rails relative to the lower rails, each lock mechanism including a plurality of notches formed in the lower rail, a locking lever pivotally supported by the upper rail, and a pawl carried by the locking lever and latchingly engageable with the notches; and a lock releaser incorporated with both of the two lock mechanisms for cancelling the locked condition of the lock mechanisms when manipulated, wherein the lock releaser comprises two parts which are pivotally connected at their first portions to each other and secured at their second portions to the locking levers of the two lock mechanis
