  • Publication number: 20020019176
Abstract: A plurality of steps respectively constituted by inner housings (19) are incorporated into an outer housing (18) of a female connector (12). Moreover, a pushing operation force transmitting member (20) is incorporated thereinto. The engaging relation of this pushing operation force transmitting member (20) to each of the inner housings is changed every time this member is externally operated. Thus, a pushing operation force applied to the outer housing (18) is transmitted to the inner housings (19) sequentially. Consequently, the outer housing (18) and the pushing operation force transmitting member (20) are alternately pushed. Thus, the plurality of steps respectively constituted by the inner housings (19) are sequentially connected to a male connector (12).

  • Publication number: 20020013072
Abstract: A connector housing (1) of a connector (1) is constituted by a lower housing (7), which is mounted on a printed circuit board (2), and an upper housing (8) connected to the lower housing (7) in such a manner as to be able to perform shifting movement with respect the housing (7). Further, terminals (6) are provided in such a way as to penetrate through a partitioning wall portion (8a) of the upper housing (8) and through a connecting block portion (7b) of the lower housing (7). At that time, tapered holes (7d) are provided in the connecting block portion (7b). The terminals (6) are maintained in a state in which a bending deformation thereof caused by the shifting movement of the upper housing (8) is allowed. Consequently, when the connector (1) is connected to the mating connector (3), the connectors (1, 3) can be connected to each other by performing the shifting movement of the upper housing (8) thereby to concurrently absorb the positional displacement therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20020001985
Abstract: When the holder 20 is assembled to the male side housing 10 (stationary side housing), the cam grooves 23a, 23b respectively engage with the cam pins 41a, 41b, so that the female side housing 40 (movable side housing) is displaced in a direction perpendicular to the assembling direction and located at the connecting position, so that both the terminal metal fittings 18, 50 are connected with each other. At this time, due to the friction caused between the terminal metal fittings 18, 50, a force resisting displacement of the female side housing 40 and also resisting assembly of the holder 20 is generated. However, a cam action is exerted by the cam grooves 23a, 23b which are oblique with respect to the assembling direction. Therefore, an intensity of the operation force to be given to the holder 20 in the assembling direction is low. When the above structure is adopted, it is unnecessary to provide a manual operation member which is independent as an assembly force reducing means.

  • Publication number: 20010027063
Abstract: A battery (B) includes electrodes (11a, 11b) and engaging portions (10a, 10b) formed by recessing portions of the battery (B) around the electrodes (11a, 11b), and recesses (14a, 14b, 23a, 23b) are formed in side surfaces of the engaging portions (10a, 10b). The recesses (14a, 14b, 23a, 23b) are symmetrically arranged in the left and right engaging portions (10a, 10b). Transversely symmetrical identification pieces (19a, 19b) project from the leading ends of terminals (15a, 15b). In the case of a correct correspondence of the electrodes (11a, 11b) and the terminals (15a, 15b), the identification pieces (19a, 19b) fit into the recesses (14a, 14b, 23a, 23b), enabling assembling of the terminals (15a, 15b) with the electrodes (11a, 11b). In the case of an incorrect correspondence, the identification pieces (19a, 19b) cannot be fitted into the recesses (14a, 14b, 23a, 23b) and interfere with the upper surface of the battery (B), making assembling impossible.

  • Publication number: 20010024909
Abstract: A terminal cap (10) is provided to prevent erroneous use of a booster cable to connect batteries that have different specifications. The terminal cap (10) is mounted to cover a battery terminal (T) to be connected with one of electrodes of a 32 V-battery. The terminal cap (10) has protection walls (20) that extend from a first accommodating portion (11a) for accommodating a connecting portion (7) of the battery terminal (T). The protection walls (20) are formed to be higher than a threaded shaft (1) of the electrode. Thus, even if an attempt is made to erroneously connect a booster cable, the protection walls (20) will interfere with the booster cable and prevent connection with the electrode located inside the protection walls (20).

  • Publication number: 20010019909
Abstract: A projection (9) is provided in a male connector (1). A lever (16) is rotatably provided in a female connector (2). The lever (16) has a curved groove (18) . When the lever (16) is turned, the projection (9) is inserted into the groove (18). As the projection (9) is inserted into this groove (18), the connection between the male connector (1) and the female connector (2) is strengthened. At that time, the lever (16) provides leverage. Moreover, the distance between the fulcrum for this lever and a point of action gradually decreases. Furthermore, in this case, the groove (18) is formed in such a way as to extend to the turning center portion of the lever (16), so that the distance between the fulcrum for the lever and the point of action is reduced still more. Consequently, a larger connecting force can be provided thereto.
