    Abstract: A semiconductor module comprises a first member including a semiconductor substrate made of a compound semiconductor and a first electronic circuit on the semiconductor substrate is mounted on a mounting surface of a module substrate, and a second member including a semiconductor layer formed of a single semiconductor thinner than the semiconductor substrate of the first member and a second electronic circuit on the semiconductor layer is bonded to an upper surface of the first member. First and second pads are respectively connected to the first electronic circuit on the first member and the second electronic circuit on the second member. A first wire connects the first pad and a substrate side pad. A second wire connects the second pad and a substrate side pad. When the steel is used to bearing steel, the bearing life extends even under service in more severe environments.

A peak detector compares the correlation value with a threshold value to be used, and sends, upon a correlation value detected larger than the threshold value, a detection signal to a symbol synchronous processor. A threshold value to be used for the peak detector is set different, after the first peak detected, between a predetermined estimation period and a period other than the former. A first peak is detected with a threshold value under a severer condition in the period other than the estimation period, and the next peak detection timing is estimated upon the first peak detected. A synchronization detecting position is determined, when no correlation peak is detected at the estimated timing, to output a sync detection signal.

    Abstract: An antifriction bearing comprises an inner race, an outer race having an outer peripheral surface to be brought into contact with other member for use as a roll, and a plurality of rolling elements arranged between the inner and outer races. The portion of the outer race from an outer peripheral surface thereof to a depth of 3 mm has a hardness of 58 to 62 in Rockwell C hardness (hereinafter referred to as “HRC”) and a hardness gradient of up to 1 HRC/1 mm from the outer peripheral surface inward, and contains 5 to 18 vol. % of retained austenite. The portion of the outer race from an inner peripheral surface thereof to a depth of 1 mm has a hardness of 61 to 64 in HRC and contains 5 to 15 vol. % of retained austenite. The center portion of the thickness of the outer race between the inner and outer peripheral surfaces thereof has a hardness of 35 to 42 in HRC. The outer race can be prevented from cracking or breaking and from undergoing plastic deformation due to use for a short period of time.
