  • Patent number: 6921517
Abstract: A hydrocarbon gas to be decomposed, optionally mixed with water vapor, is allowed to flow through the gap between various porous tubes 4 constituting a group of porous tubes provided extending vertically in a decomposition reaction column 1 while air or oxygen is jetted homogeneously from the interior to the exterior of the porous tubes in the direction perpendicular to the stream of the hydrocarbon gas to be decomposed, optionally mixed with water vapor. The mixture is then ignited to form a diffusion flame layer B on the outer surface of the porous tubes 4. With the diffusion flame layer as a heat source, the hydrocarbon gas to be decomposed, optionally mixed with water vapor, undergoes pyrolysis.

  • Publication number: 20040262817
Abstract: The double blow molding process comprises a primary blow molding step of biaxially drawing and blow molding the preform into a primary intermediate product, a step of heating the primary intermediate product to shrink-mold it into the secondary intermediate product, and a secondary blow molding step of molding the secondary intermediate product into a bottle. This double blow molding process is characterized in that, just before the secondary blow molding step, the secondary intermediate product on standby is maintained at a temperature at least 40° C. or 50° C. higher than the mold temperature used in said secondary blow molding step. From such a temperature, it is possible to determine the double blow molding conditions, which can correspond to the levels of heat resistance required for the bottles, and to provide, with high productivity, the bottles having necessary levels of heat resistance.

  • Patent number: 6268395
Abstract: An antiviral agent comprising as an active ingredient a phorbol derivative of formula (I): (wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5, independently one another, represent a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic carboxylic acid residue, or an aromatic carboxylic acid residue) having a ratio r=CC0/IC100, i.e., ratio of concentration CC0 at which survival of MT-4 cells is decreased upon cell proliferation tests to concentration IC100 at which HIV-1-induced cytopathic effect (CPE) on MT-4 cells is inhibited by 100%, of 2 or more and having a protein kinase C(PKC) activation of 30% or less at a concentration of 10 ng/mL. The agent is useful as an anti-HIV agent.

  • Patent number: 5825911
Abstract: An article 1 to be prevented from forgery previously contains an optical semiconductor, the mixing ratio of which is predetermined. Under the condition that a light source 6 is turned off, microwaves are emitted to the article 1 to be prevented from forgery through a feed phone 5. These microwaves are reflected on the article 1 to be prevented from forgery and supplied to a receiving section 8 through a feed phone 7, so that the receiving level of the microwaves can be measured. Next, the light source 6 is turned on, and the receiving level of the microwaves is measured in the same manner. When an optical semiconductor is irradiated with rays of light, it is excited, so that the microwave reflection factor is enhanced. Accordingly, the receiving level in the case where the light source 6 is turned on is higher than the receiving level in the case where the light source 6 is turned off.

  • Patent number: 4179488
Abstract: One of the main objectives of the present invention is to provide a frosted bottle made of an unsaturated polyester, and another object thereof is to provide a method of making such the frosted bottle. The bottle according to the present invention is made from a cylindrical material prepared by injection moulding and having a bottom wall and a transparent upper portion in the vicinity of the opening thereof. The peripheral outer surface of the cylindrical material is heated to allow the outer surface for becoming milky white, and then put into a mould for blow mounding to inflate the trunk and bottom walls other than the neck portion thereby for forming a bottle. The bottles according to the present invention which are not particularly colored are, therefore, characterized by having walls which are composed of inner transparent portions and opaque outer pheripheral portions of milky white color, when viewed in cross sections. This is a division of application Ser. No. 779,473, filed Mar. 21, 1977.
