Publication number: 20140185439Abstract: In the case where a plurality of wireless systems differing in service area from each other are present, there is provided a wireless terminal having a function for collecting a history of application information, and a history of position information, a function for transmitting these histories to a priority table control server, a function whereby the priority table control server prepares a priority table on the basis of information obtained, and a function whereby the information is transmitted to the wireless terminal. The wireless terminal selects a connection destination on the basis of the information.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2013Publication date: July 3, 2014Applicant: HITACHI, LTD.Inventors: Yoshiki SAKURAI, Shiro MAZAWA, Hiroaki KASAHARA, Masao HAYAMA

Patent number: 8295842Abstract: Call connection processing is performed and a message is processed in a different subnet without UATI reassignment and takeover of a wireless session. RANs that belong to different subnets and are adjacent to each other use messages to exchange ColorCode, IP addresses of base station controllers, wireless resource information of base station transceiver subsystems and the like. When the RAN receives, from an AT, a message having ColorCode that is different from ColorCode of the RAN, the RAN transfers the message to a base station controller included in the RAN having ColorCode that matches the ColorCode included in the message.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2010Date of Patent: October 23, 2012Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Eiichiro Takizawa, Yi Lou, Masao Hayama, Michihiro Asanuma, Takaaki Suzuki

Publication number: 20110256874Abstract: A method of performing a handoff between a plurality of wireless systems having different service areas and a wireless communication terminal are provided. A means for selecting one of the wireless systems to be connected according to the average moving speed of the wireless terminal is provided. When the average moving speed is changed across a certain threshold, the wireless terminal starts selecting one of the wireless systems as a handoff destination. Upon selection of the handoff destination, the current throughput is compared with the estimated throughput of the handoff destination. When an improvement in the throughput can be expected, the wireless terminal performs the handoff. The wireless terminal incorporates a plurality of control devices to select the handoff destination while communicating with the current wireless system.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2011Publication date: October 20, 2011Inventors: Masao HAYAMA, Koichi Shiraishi

Publication number: 20050271002Abstract: Actual calculated throughput is presented to the user before the start of communications. A transmission and receiving section of a radio communication terminal transmits a first signal to a radio base station while the radio communication terminal is in an idling state to request a second signal (such as null data) used to calculate a transfer rate (such as throughput) expected in communications, and receives the second signal transmitted by the radio base station in response to the first signal. When the second signal having the amount of information specified in advance is received, a signal processing section calculates the transfer rate according to the time required from the start of receiving of the second signal to when the amount of information is reached, and the amount of information of the second signal received.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2005Publication date: December 8, 2005Applicant: Hitachi Communication Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Shunsaku Abe, Masao Hayama

Publication number: 20010027375Abstract: The present invention is intended to achieve optimum navigation services for moving means types corresponding to automobiles, bicycles, wheelchairs and walking. Moving means type information about a moving means type to be used by a user who desires the supply of route information is produced, and a starting position data on a starting position from which the user starts is obtained. A map of an area surrounding the starting position is extracted from map data for the moving means type and the same map is displayed. A destination to which the user desires to travel is specified, map data for the moving means type is searched for a route by using the starting position and the destination as keys for retrieval, and an optimum route for the moving means type is extracted.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2001Publication date: October 4, 2001Applicant: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Yoshiyuki Machida, Masao Hayama, Joichi Saito, Fumihiko Shimazaki, Yuichiro Katsu
