  • Patent number: 5210725
Abstract: A control circuit of a tray loading apparatus determines, according to a disc size and a tray moving direction, a time during which to control the motor at a constant speed. When the specified time has elapsed after the motor was started, the control circuit produces a pulse-width modulated output to slowly lower the motor speed, eliminating impact noise when the tray strikes a stopper. This motor deceleration time is measured. When the measured deceleration time disagrees with a preset or previously detected target deceleration time, the difference is either added to or subtracted from a constant-speed motor operation time and the resultant value is taken as the next target time for constant-speed motor operation. In this way, by changing the time during which the motor is driven at a constant speed, any variations in the tray moving speed as might occur from varying loads on the motor are absorbed to keep the motor deceleration time and decelerating speed unchanged, thus making the tray motion smooth.

  • Patent number: 4949328
Abstract: A front loading type disk player which can play both sides of a single disk without ejecting the disk from and reinserting it into the disk player after playing one side. In addition, the disk player can play one or both sides of multiple disks without ejecting or reinserting disks. The disk player includes a movable carrier on which at least two trays are movably mounted. The carrier can be moved in a first direction so as to project from or retract into a housing of the disk player, and the trays can be moved in the first direction with respect to the carrier and a second, vertical direction e.g. perpendicular to the first direction. The trays are moved by moving a chassis, which supports them, with respect to the carrier. The trays are independently movable in the first direction and the chassis 11 is movable in the vertical direction in a stepwise fashion so that the disks stored on the trays can be properly individually placed on the turntable and removed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4893295
Abstract: A front loading disc player is disclosed which comprises a housing, a play mechanism including a turntable, a carrier for carrying a disc to be played, and a projection/accommodation mechanism for moving the carrier so as to project/accommodate the carrier out-of-into the housing to perform loading/ejection of the disc. The projection/accommodation mechanism includes moving members movably provided within said housing, a driving force application unit for applying a driving force to the moving members, and a carrier moving mechanism for moving the carrier in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction in response to the movement of the moving members. The carrier moving mechanism is provided with a speed multiplier for moving the carrier at a speed higher than the moving speed of the moving members as the moving members move.

  • Patent number: 4882722
Abstract: A front loading disk player is disclosed which comprises a housing; a playing unit including a turn table; a carrier for bearing a disk to be played; carrier taking in and out unit for moving the carrier out of and into the housing through an opening formed in the housing, to permit the loading and unloading of the disk; and a door provided swingably to open and close the opening. The carrier taking in and out unit comprises movable members which are movably provided in the housing; a drive force applying unit for applying a drive force to the movable members; and a carrier moving mechanism for moving the carrier horizontally and vertically with movement of the movable members. The door is opened and closed by the carrier taking in and out unit.

  • Patent number: 4845700
Abstract: A front loading disc player plays back both sides of a loaded disc without ejecting and reloading the disc. The front loading disc player has a playback unit disposed in a player housing and having a turntable and an optical pickup, and a disc transfer mechanism for carrying a disc to be played back and transferring the disc into a playback position. The playback unit is movable by a playback means moving mechanism between a first position corresponding to one side of the disc having reached the playback position and a second position corresponding to the other side of the disc.

  • Patent number: 4841518
Abstract: A clamp mechanism for clamping an information recording disk such as a compact disk or a video disk to a turntable and which provides a strong and reliable clamping force despite variations in the thicknesses of the disks to be reproduced. The clamp mechanism includes a clamper including a magnet retaining member, a ring-like pressing member arranged to abut the information recording disk, and a plate spring member interconnecting the retaining member and the pressing member in such a manner that the retaining member and the pressing member are vertically movable relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 4631716
Abstract: An operation changeover mechanism for a disk player or the like which is simple in construction, easy to assemble and inexpensive. An apparatus is provided having first and second members disposed substantially parallel to one another and which are movable relative to each other. A third member is disposed at least partly between the first and second members and is movable in the same direction as the first and second members. First and second recess portions are formed in the respective first and second members in opposite surface, the recess portions being arranged so as to be able to be moved into opposition with the first and second recess portions. A movable member is disposed in the opening portion, engageable with the first and second recess portions. Movement between the third member and either one of the first and second members is restricted in a predetermined direction.
