  • Patent number: 5858521
Abstract: The vibration damper material comprises a laminate of a viscoelastic layer and a hardenable pressure sensitive adhesive layer, and a release liner applied onto the hardenable pressure sensitive adhesive layer. The viscoelastic layer is intended to form a vibration damping layer, and contains a viscoelastic material mainly comprised of unvulcanized rubber to which a vulcanizing agent (crosslinking agent) has been added. The hardenable pressure sensitive adhesive layer comprises a hardenable pressure sensitive adhesive which has adhesive properties in the uncured state but has a strong adhesive strength when it is cured by heating, irradiation with light or by being blocked from air for example. This hardenable pressure sensitive adhesive layer contains a sticking polymer, a reactive oligomer and a polymerization initiator. The release liner which is utilized has a silicone layer formed on the surface of a base material thereof.

  • Patent number: 5853876
Abstract: An adhesive tape or an adhesive label each of which comprises a substrate including a biodegradable polymer layer and an adhesive layer provided on at least one surface of the substrate. The adhesive tape has a release agent layer formed on an opposite surface to the surface where the adhesive layer is provided, or has a release tape which is in contact with the adhesive layer, and the adhesive tape was wound up around a core for storage. The adhesive label has a release sheet which is in contact with the adhesive layer. In such biodegradable adhesive tape and biodegradable adhesive label, a biodegradable polymer is used as a material of the substrate, and therefore the tape and label do not disrupt the natural environment or do not largely disorganize the ecosystem in the soil even when discarded in the soil after use.

  • Patent number: 5712038
Abstract: A vibration damper material 1 composed of a laminated sheet having a base stock layer 3, a resilient layer 4, an primer layer 5, an organic component barrier layer 6 and an adhesive layer 7 successively laminated in that order from one to the other side thereof, and a release liner 8 stuck on the adhesive layer 7. The resilient layer 4 is constituted by a resilient material containing a vehicle consisting of a member or a mixture of two or more members selected from the group of asphalt, rubber, synthetic resins and cellulose derivatives, synthetic resin powder, and an elastic material having an elongation rate of 500% or higher. The organic component barrier layer functions to block permeation therethrough of organic components such as tar and oil components which would otherwise tend to migrate into the adhesive layer from the resilient layer.

  • Patent number: 5695867
Abstract: A reinforcing and vibration-damping material has a laminate body which includes a constraining layer acting to reinforce an adherend to which the material is to be applied, a vibration-damping layer acting to damp vibrations in the adherend and a binder layer interposed between the constraining layer and the vibration-damping layer. Further, a hardenable pressure sensitive adhesive layer is formed on the vibration-damping layer of the laminate body, and a release liner is placed around the hardenable pressure sensitive adhesive layer. The constraining layer exhibits the advantageous effect of reinforcing the adherend, and comprises, for example, a hard material such as a metal. The binder layer comprises a pressure sensitive adhesive, a bonding agent or a hardenable pressure sensitive adhesive. The vibration-reinforcing layer comprises a viscoelastic material containing unvulcanized rubber and a vulcanizing agent for example.

  • Patent number: 5589192
Abstract: An article of manufacture in the form of a gel pharmaceutical formulation for local anesthesia is prepared by a process comprising: coating a supporting substrate, which preferably is porous, e.g., a non-woven fabric, and has an impervious backing sheet, with a matrix of a copolymer of alkyl (meth)acrylates and (meth)acrylic acid and a local anesthetic whereby the matrix penetrates the substrate, crosslinking the copolymer in the matrix to form a polymer/drug matrix, and coating the surface of the matrix with an aqueous fluid, thereby converting the matrix into a gel and preferably covering the gel matrix with an impervious protective sheet. The product has excellent percutaneous absorption, provides local anesthesia easily just by attaching the formulation to the skin, enables elimination of various kinds of pain, such as the pain at the time of hypodermic injection, can be removed easily from the skin, and causes no soiling of fingers, hands or cloths.

  • Patent number: 5401557
Abstract: A thread-reinforced paper sheet comprises upper and lower paper layers and a reinforcing thread interposed therebetween. A thread-reinforced gummed tape comprises a tape base material which consists of upper and lower paper layers and a reinforcing thread interposed between the upper and lower paper layers, and a moisture activated adhesive layer formed on one of surfaces of the tape base material. In each of the thread-reinforced paper sheet and the thread-reinforced gummed tape, a water-soluble or water-dispersible adhesive is used to laminate the upper and lower paper layers, and a water-soluble thread is used as the reinforcing thread. Each of such thread-reinforced paper sheet and such thread-reinforced gummed tape exhibits a strength equivalent to that of the prior art article and moreover, has a complete disintegratability. Thus, a regeneratable thread-reinforced paper sheet as well as a regeneratable thread-reinforced gummed tape is provided.

  • Patent number: 5284091
Abstract: A plate roll attached by an adhesive sheet to a printing plate made of a resin. The attached printing plate is easily detached. The adhesive sheet and remaining adhesive are easily removed after printing is finished and the efficiency of the operation of printing is enhanced. The adhesive sheet includes a photocurable adhesive, which loses adhesive ability by curing by irradiation of electromagnetic waves or an electron beam or a water swelling adhesive, which loses adhesive ability by swelling by water. Adhesive sheets for the plate roll comprise supporting sheets, removable sheets and a photocurable adhesive, which loses adhesive ability by curing by irradiation of electromagnetic waves or an electron beam or a water swelling adhesive, which loses adhesive ability by swelling by water.
