  • Patent number: 7241608
Abstract: In view of the increase in the number of cases with nephropathy in aged animals of the cat family, the invention provides a marker for early diagnosis of feline nephropathy which can substitute for the conventional complicated methods of diagnosing nephropathy such as blood examination, kidney radiography using a contrast medium, and ultrasonic image analysis. It was found that cats with nephropathy show markedly lowered levels of excretion of a novel protein (named cauxin) with a molecular weight of 70 K, which is excreted into urine in high concentrations in normal adult cats showing no clinical abnormality. When the protein is used as a marker in diagnosing feline nephropathy, feline nephropathy can be detected in a simple and exact manner.

  • Patent number: 6035213
Abstract: A dual-mode cellular telephone system which is capable of suppressing a narrow-band disturbing signal appearing in a mobile station of a dual-mode cellular telephone system adapted for both an analog system and a digital CDMA system. A CDMA signal from a CDMA base station, and a narrow-band signal from an analog system are received through an antenna by a receiver, whereby they are amplified, subjected to frequency conversion, and input to a variable notch filter. A disturbing signal detection circuit supplies the variable notch filter with a control signal for varying its frequency. Namely, the disturbing signal detection circuit detects a case that an output level of the variable notch filter is at a minimum by changing the notch frequency via a series of sweeping control signals. A control signal at which the output level of the variable notch filter is at a minimum is then fed to the variable notch filter, thereby effectively suppressing any intermodulation distortions present in the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 5885901
Abstract: After the resist is removed with an alkaline solution, a noncorrosive rinse solution is applied to the substrate which is composed of (a) a water-soluble monovalent lower alcohol and an organic or inorganic acid, or (b) a water-soluble monovalent lower alcohol, an organic or inorganic acid and water or (c) an organic or inorganic acid. This rinse solution prevents corrosion completely when a resist is removed from Al-Si-Cu wiring :material, which is widely used as the wiring material for high-density integrated circuits.

  • Patent number: 5289506
Abstract: An AFC circuit stabilizes the frequency of an intermediate frequency signal to be applied to a demodulation circuit. A frequency conversion circuit responds to a local oscillation signal generated from a voltage-controlled oscillation circuit to convert the frequency of a digital modulation signal and applies the converted frequency to the demodulation circuit. A carrier reproduction circuit in the demodulation circuit reproduces the carrier of the intermediate frequency signal to output a synchronizing detection signal. The frequency of the reproduced carrier is frequency-divided by a frequency dividing circuit. A frequency division output thereof is counted by a counter for a definite period. Data is outputted from a microprocessor in response to a count output of the counter and the synchronizing detection signal, and the data is then converted into an AFC voltage by a D/A converter. The converted voltage is supplied as a control voltage to the voltage-controlled oscillation circuit.

  • Patent number: 5228036
Abstract: A frame synchronization stabilizer for stabilizing frame synchronization of received data has a generation circuit for generating a reference pattern which is the same as a predetermined frame synchronization pattern contained in data being transmitted. The stabilizer further has a comparison circuit for comparing, bit by bit, a data pattern in a synchronization pattern area of each frame of the received data with the reference pattern from the generation circuit. The comparison circuit outputs a mismatch pulse each time when a mismatch bit is detected by the comparison, and outputs a match pulse each time when it is detected that the data pattern is fully matched with the reference pattern. The number of the mismatch pulses from the comparison circuit is counted by a first counter. The first counter outputs an out-of frame detection signal when a counted value exceeds a particular value and is reset based upon the match pulse from the comparison circuit.

  • Patent number: 5098417
Abstract: A wound dressing is provided herein for systemic administration of a physiologically- or biologically-active agent by controlled release of the agent into such wound. The wound dressing includes a substrate in the form of a fabric or cloth, at least a portion of which is cellulosic, which has been chemically modified to convert hydroxyl groups in the cellulosic portion to ionic-adsorbing sites. An ionic form of a physiologically- or biologically-active agent, namely an antibacterial agent, an antifungal agent, an analgesic agent, a tissue healant agent, a local anesthetic agent, an antibleeding agent, an enzyme or a vasoconstrictor is adsorbed in that substrate. Ionic bonds hold that agent temporarily to the substrate for controlled release therefrom in proportion to the amount of exudate in contact with the substrate. The ionic bonds are formed by adsorbing that agent on that substrate at room temperature.
