    Abstract: A monoazo pyridone compound of the following formula, ##STR1## wherein X is a member selected from hydrogen, halogeno, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylcarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, aralkoxycarbonyl, alkylsulfonyl, arylsulfonyl, carbamoyl, sulfamoyl or cyano, and R is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or anilino, with the provisos that X is a member selected from those defined above except for hydrogen, chloro, methyl and methoxy when R is ethyl, and X is a member selected from those defined above except for alkyl when R is iso-butyl, which is stable under dyeing conditions, and useful for dyeing hydrophobic fiber materials to give dyed products of a deep, fast and brilliant color of greenish yellow to orange.

    Abstract: A water-insoluble disperse dye composition comprising a combination of a dye represented by the following formula (I), ##STR1## wherein X is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, in an amount of 95 to 20% by weight, and a dye represented by the following formula (II), ##STR2## wherein Z, Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2 are independently hydrogen or halogen, and the ring A is a benzene or naphthalene ring unsubstituted or substituted with a carboxylic acid ester group, in an amount of 5 to 80% by weight, which is useful for dyeing polyester fiber materials to obtain dyed products having both extremely high light fastness and excellent thermal resistance.

    Abstract: Styryl compounds represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1 is a halogen atom or a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy group, X.sub.2, Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2 are each a hydrogen or halogen atom or a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy group, R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 are each an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group, and R.sub.2 is a straight or branched C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 alkylene group or an alicyclic hydrocarbon-containing alkylene group, a process for producing them, a process for dyeing and printing hydrophobic fibers by their use and a process for coloring synthetic resins by their use. According to said processes a clear yellow color of high fastness can be given to the fibers and synthetic resins.
