  • Patent number: 4785365
Abstract: A door assembly for a device for driving a recording medium has a panel defining an opening through which the device can be loaded with a recording medium or unloaded. A door is rotatably supported on the inside of the panel. A pair of springs are associated with the door for urging it in a direction in which it is rotated to close the opening. A shutter is slidably supported on the inside of the panel for closing the opening when the device has been loaded with a recording medium. A pair of levers are rotatably supported on the panel and are adapted for simultaneous rotation. Each lever has a first end connected to the shutter and a second end which is engageable by the recording medium for rotation in a direction in which its first end is rotated to move the shutter in a first direction in which it closes the opening. Another spring is connected between the levers for urging the first ends thereof in a direction in which they move the shutter in a second direction in which it clears the opening.

  • Patent number: 4779155
Abstract: In a disc driving device with a carriage moving means including a screw shaft formed with a single spiral groove on an outer circumference thereof, the spiral groove being formed by a plurality of circumferential groove portions each having a greatly small lead angle and a straight bottom, the groove portions being sequentially shifted in an axial direction of the screw shaft, a stepping motor for rotatively driving the screw shaft, and a carriage having an engagement means adapted to be engaged with the spiral groove; the improvement is characterized in that each of the groove portions is divided into three parts, that is, a central small groove corresponding to a normal track position and both adjacent small grooves corresponding to a fine adjustment position, and that both the adjacent small grooves are axially shifted from the central small groove by an amount required for predetermined fine adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4772973
Abstract: A disk driving device having a reduced thickness and formed in a compact construction, comprising a cartridge holder for holding a disk cartridge carrying a disk for recording information, a sliding plate for moving the cartridge holder toward and away from a turntable, a motor for rotatively driving the turntable, and a frame holding the motor and having a bottom plate along which the sliding plate slides for disk cartridge loading and ejecting operations. The motor supporting parts of the frame is raised slightly from the bottom plate of the frame toward the cartridge holder so that part of the sliding plate is allowed to extend in the clearance between the bottom plate and the motor supporting parts of the frame and the clearance between the bottom plate and part of the motor facing the bottom plate, for free sliding movement.

  • Patent number: 4765782
Abstract: A cutter for forming a spiral groove on a work is provided. The cutter comprises a cylindrical body provided on the outer periphery thereof with a plurality of cutting edges arranged circumferentially at equal intervals and displaced axially by a predetermined pitch. Further, each of the cutting edges is provided with a pair of additional cutting edges adjacent thereto and displaced circumferentially on both sides, respectively, so that when the work and the cutter are rotated in the same direction, a high-precision spiral groove is formed on the work.A screw-shaft machined by the cutter according to the present invention is effectively used for a carriage transfer unit of a still video floppy disk drive, allowing accurate adjustment of the portion of the carriage and accurate transfer of the carriage with respect to the disk to be performed in a simple manner and at low cost.

  • Patent number: 4314118
Abstract: A spring loaded switch which includes a coil spring having hook portions provided at respective ends thereof is first fastened to respective catch portions provided inside the switch frame. Thereafter a slider member having a vertical projection is inserted in the frame so that the projection is opposed to one of the hook portions, whereupon the one hook portion can be removed from the catch portion with which it has been engaged, and onto the projection so that the coil spring now urges the slider member in one direction. Since a coil spring can be fastened to the switch frame first as mentioned above, the coil spring can be thereafter handled very easily.

  • Patent number: 4137438
Abstract: Disclosed is a lever switch for switching electric circuits. The switch has a driving lever rotatably secured to a switch frame which accomodates a slider having movable contacts and a click container accomodating a click member. The slider has a driving portion adapted for engagement with a driving projection formed on the driving lever, so that the slider may be driven to bring the movable contacts housed therein into and out of contact with fixed contacts, thereby to switch the electric circuits. The click member is adapted for engagement with a cam portion of the driving lever to allow the clicking motion of the latter. The click container is fixed to the switch frame in such a manner that grooves formed at the sides thereof receive corresponding tongues formed on the switch frame, so that it is unnecessary to spread the walls of the frame away from each other during the insertion of the click container, thereby to facilitate the assembling.

  • Patent number: 4129764
Abstract: A push switch is adapted for use in combination with a variable resistance. The switch comprises an insulating driving body rotatably mounted on a slider which is adapted to be moved by a push rod or shaft, and at least two metal pieces carrying electrical contacts. These members are positioned within a casing in such a manner that the movement of the slider causes the driving body to be rotated by contact with a projection formed on one of the metal pieces. The rotation of the driving body causes electrical contacts to move to and from each other.
