  • Patent number: 7195378
Abstract: In a vehicle lighting apparatus in which the irradiation direction of lamps provided at the left and right portions of an automobile can be deflected to the left and right directions in association with the steering operation of a steering apparatus, the deflection angles of the left and right lamps are changed in different manners in accordance with a vehicle speed, for example. For example, at the time of steering to the right, when a vehicle speed is a predetermined value or less, only the right lamp is subjected to the deflecting operation, while when a vehicle speed exceeds the predetermined value, both the right and left lamps are simultaneously subjected to the deflecting operation. The deflection angles of the left and right lamps are differentiated in accordance with the speed change of an automobile.

  • Patent number: 7150547
Abstract: An apparatus for illuminating an area in front of a vehicle, including a lamp and means for deflecting a radiation direction of the lamp in response to a steering action, except when the steering action is performed in a direction opposite to a direction indicated by a turn signal from a turn signal switch. When the direction of the turn signal does not match the steering direction, the radiation direction of the lamp is maintained in the straight traveling direction of the vehicle until a predetermined period of time has passed. The exception might not be realized if the vehicle is traveling above a predetermined speed.

  • Patent number: 7112925
Abstract: Lamp units for radiating a beam ahead of a vehicle in a light distribution pattern are housed in a lamp body. Illumination of the auxiliary lamp units is controlled based on driving conditions. Illumination control means extinguish light through dimming by gradually decreasing voltage applied to the light sources. When the applied voltage has dropped to a threshold value, the applied voltage is controlled to zero immediately. Compared to when the lamps remaining in an illuminated state are suddenly extinguished, a change in quantity of light is mild, and no uncertainty arises. Below a threshold value where the applied voltage gradually drops to the threshold value and a change may arise in the filament crystalline structure due to annealing at a transition temperature, the applied voltage approaches zero. Hence, the filament does not pass from the transition temperature while being rapidly cooled, thus avoiding filament crystalline structure change.

  • Publication number: 20040264209
Abstract: Apparatus for achieving suitable illumination of an area in front of a vehicle includes the ability to limit a deflecting operation while the vehicle is traveling when it is preferable not to deflect a lamp in accordance with a steering operation. If a turn signal is input from a turn signal switch at a time when a motor vehicle turns to the right or turns to the left, and a steering operation is carried out in the opposite direction to the direction indicated by the turn signal, a deflecting operation of the lamp is stopped. If the direction of the turn signal does not match the steering direction when the vehicle turns, for example, to the left, an area in front of the vehicle in the traveling direction can be illuminated after the vehicle turns to the left by fixing the deflection direction of the lamp in the straight traveling direction.

  • Patent number: 4511029
Abstract: An apparatus for transferring articles suitable for use in combination with a press in which a pair of parallel feed bars, each having clamping jaws or claws are moved three dimensionally to transfer blanks sequentially through a series of die stations. The apparatus has a pair of movable frames each mounting two carriers from which the feed bars are suspended one from each carrier. The carriers on each movable frame are adapted to be moved toward and away from each other by the operation of fluid-operated clamp/unclamp cylinders mounted on the movable frame thereby to make the jaws or claws clamp and unclamp the blanks. The feed bars are movable also in the longitudinal directions thereof by fluid-operated advance/return cylinders associated with the movable frames, and also up and down by fluid operated lift/down cylinders mounted on the carriers.
