    Abstract: A vinylidene chloride copolymer is provided which can give packaging articles such as films, sheets, containers and tubes having superior appearance, heat stability and gas-barrier property and sufficient strength for practical application. The vinylidene chloride copolymer is derived from (1) 70 to 95% by weight of vinylidene chloride, (2) 0.5 to 10% by weight of glycidyl methacrylate, (3) 0.05 to 3% by weight of methyl acrylate or methyl methacrylate, and (4) 5 to 25% by weight of another copolymerizable vinyl monomer.
