Patent number: 7289892Abstract: The present invention provides inspection of a transmission with higher precision and in a shorter period of time. Before a finished A/T is inspected, a V/B ASSY and an ECU are inspected together by a V/B tester in a subsidiary line. A solenoid current command value (a characteristic value inherent in the A/T) for a linear solenoid of the V/B ASSY is corrected and written into the ECU through CAN communication. Spring load of a return spring SP and stroke of the piston of a hydraulic servo for a frictional engagement element are measured. Actually measured values or corrected values of the spring load and the stroke are stored. In the final inspection of the A/T a finished-product tester reads the stored characteristic values and transmits them to the ECU integrated with the A/T through CAN communication. The characteristic values are then written into the ECU. The finished-product tester inspects the finished A/T product, using the characteristic values thus written into the ECU.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2003Date of Patent: October 30, 2007Assignees: Aisin AW Co., Ltd., Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Akira Isogai, Masahiko Ando, Naoyuki Fukaya, Takayuki Kubo, Masao Saitou, Yuji Imanaga, Satoshi Yoshida, Masato Matsubara, Norimi Asahara, Katsumi Kono, Tomokazu Inagawa, Hideki Takamatsu

Patent number: 6793602Abstract: An automatic transmission control device controls multiple speed changes in which shifting from first speed to second speed occurs during shifting from second speed to first speed. The control device includes a shift lever position sensor, an ECT_ECU, and an AT linear solenoid. The ECT_ECU includes a circuit that detects multiple speed changes; a circuit that controls the AT linear solenoid such that an engagement pressure of an engaged first speed engine brake friction element sweeps down when multiple speed changes are detected; and a circuit that commands a shift to second speed once a predetermined time has passed since the detection of multiple speed changes assuming that the engagement pressure of the first speed engine brake friction element has sufficiently swept down.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2003Date of Patent: September 21, 2004Assignees: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Aisin AW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masato Kaigawa, Yoji Takanami, Masao Saitou

Patent number: 6512971Abstract: In an automatic transmission having a torque converter interposed between an engine and a transmission mechanism, the torque converter includes a lock-up clutch capable of directly coupling an output shaft of the engine and an input shaft of the transmission mechanism. A speed difference detector is provided for detecting a difference between engine rotational speed and input shaft rotational speed. An engine speed controller means is also provided for controlling the engine speed to cause the speed difference to converge within a predetermined range. By detecting the speed difference, it is possible to precisely detect the actual vehicle state, and to reliably and smoothly engage the lock-up clutch without generating shift shock in any vehicle state. With this structure, the lock-up clutch can be reliably engaged and the engine brake can be secured.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2001Date of Patent: January 28, 2003Assignee: Aisin AW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuo Koumura, Masao Saitou, Masayuki Kuwata, Muneo Kusafuka

Patent number: 6254508Abstract: In a multiple speed-change operation for switching between an up-shift operation and a down-shift operation, engine torque control is adapted to an actual change in speed-change state, whereby an abrupt change in rotational speed of the input shaft is prevented. One embodiment relates to a speed-change operation from the second speed to the third speed, wherein the engagement-side hydraulic pressure B4 rises and the release-side hydraulic pressure B5 drops, the rotational speed NT of the input shaft changes from a second speed state toward a third speed state and the engine torque TE is reduced by a predetermined amount TCU. If a command to perform a speed-change operation from the third speed to the second speed is issued during the aforementioned speed-change operation from the second speed to the third speed, control of the hydraulic pressures is switched to the speed-change operation from the third speed to the second speed.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1999Date of Patent: July 3, 2001Assignee: Aisin AW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kouichi Kojima, Hiroshi Tsutsui, Masao Saitou, Masaaki Nishida, Yoshihisa Yamamoto

Patent number: 4687358Abstract: An improved transfer material holding cassette is provided with a rotation inhibiting means which serves to inhibit the core from being rotated freely at a time before it is fitted to the housing of an image building apparatus in which an image is built using the transfer material and release it from the rotation inhibited state when it is fitted to the housing. The rotation inhibiting means is located opposite to the plane of a core extending at a right angle relative to the axis of rotation of the core and comprises a lever turnably supported on the inner wall of the case to turn about the middle part thereof, the one end of the lever being located opposite to the plane of the core and the other end of the same being located opposite to an opening on the case, and a resilient member adapted to normally turn the lever in such a direction that the one end of the lever comes in contact with the core under the effect of a resilient force so as to inhibit the core from being rotated freely.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1985Date of Patent: August 18, 1987Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventor: Masao Saitou

Patent number: 4663637Abstract: An improved transfer material holding cassette of the type including transfer material in the form of ribbon, two cores and a case is disclosed. The case is formed with an opposing pair of guides and the inoperative position of the guides is determined offset from the operative position where two supporting members are mechanically engaged to the guides in the housing of an image building apparatus. When the support members are practically engaged to the guides, the inner wall of each of the guides is brought in uniform close contact with the outer surface of each of the support members under the effect of elastic force generated by engagement of the latter to the guides. Thus, any uneven area on the guides which is developed at a time of molding can be automatically eliminated by fitting the transfer material holding cassette to the holding of the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 1986Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventor: Masao Saitou

Patent number: 4661826Abstract: In picture image forming apparatus employing a copying paper and a transfer printing ribbon with both ends connected to take up cores, when the leading end of the copying paper is located close to a transfer printing unit, the tension of the ink ribbon is increased for preventing clogging of the paper and misalignment of printed picture images. Further, the tensions applied to the both ends of the ribbon are controlled to apply a braking force to the ribbon and then stop the same for the purpose of preventing over running of the ribbon.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1985Date of Patent: April 28, 1987Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventor: Masao Saitou
